Fair or foul ball in this case doesn't matter, the ball was caught in the air. But if it had not been caught it would have been a .... foul ball. Unlike football, having both feet in bounds when a catch is made makes no difference, it's where the ball is not the player.

Having feet inbounds makes a difference when catching a ball that is out of play. The player can't leave the field (including going into a dugout or onto dugout steps) to catch a ball. However, if the feet are still inbounds, then the catch counts, even if the ball would have landed out of play.

Yeah I can remember one of my teammates hit a fly down the LF line. There's no fence in foul territory, just the field leading up to the walkway to the parking lot. So the LF makes the catch and his momentum took him on the walkway. The ump gave the runners the next base. Their coach argued it, and got kicked out of the game. He never left, and there's a one minute rule that if you don't leave the field in 1min after tossed, your team forfeits. So we won. One of our baserunners probably would have been doubled off at 2B too.
