Say a line drive is hit down the line and is slicing foul. Say the 1stbaseman or outfielder went to dive for the ball. The fielder starts his dive with both feet in fair territory, and catches the ball in midair, the ball is in foul territory. The fielder lands in foul territory. Is the play fair or foul?

Yeah I can remember one of my teammates hit a fly down the LF line. There's no fence in foul territory, just the field leading up to the walkway to the parking lot. So the LF makes the catch and his momentum took him on the walkway. The ump gave the runners the next base. Their coach argued it, and got kicked out of the game. He never left, and there's a one minute rule that if you don't leave the field in 1min after tossed, your team forfeits. So we won. One of our baserunners probably would have been doubled off at 2B too.
