How many of you coaches were screaming at the SC catcher though to get up and throw the ball back to the P correctly????

I don't think in the 5 or so innings I watched did he get off his knees once and/or make an overhand throw.

I cannot believe a 2x champion coach allows his starting catcher to be so lazy. And I figured it was he has a great stick but the one time I saw him bat he swung at three sliders and walked back to bench.

Just had to get that out...it was driving me nuts!!

It is funny you mentioned that, I have seen 4 or 5 SC games this year on TV and it drives me nuts everytime! The long pause after he leans over before the throw drives me crazy!!

In one or two cases, it looked like the pitcher was irritated as he waited to get the ball back.

Greiner has some kind of tick or quirk regarding throwing the ball back to the pitcher...and yes, it drives EVERYBODY crazy...doesn't have the same problem throwing down though.

Greiner had some problems throwing the ball back to the pitcher during the fall. There were a lot of bouncers, and the coaches knew that's the sort of thing that might keep him from getting on the field. He's a very talented freshman player as a receiver and a hitter. This new way of throwing the ball back, where he stays on his knees, readjusts his grip, and sharply fires the ball back to the pitcher has worked for him and helped him overcome the mental block. No team had tried to take advantage of him until Furman successfully ran a delay steal on him last week. As far as throwing to second in running situations, he's very good and very accurate.
