Go Frank Chumbley and them Marcus Maurauders.

Couldn't have said it better. Every time FM gets a lot of questionable calls their way, or the opposing pitchers get squeezed. No reference to my start Wink No, hard feeling aside, FM is a very good team and with or without any assistance from any other source than their sheer talent.

Good luck to Marcus as they would be the ones I would most like to see beat FM in that district.

KD: That 1B man is a stud, Baylor is one lucky school.... GOOD LUCK to you guys and I hope your son has a great game, drop me a note and let me know how things are going your way.

INFIELD08: Good Luck to you as well tomorrow, big nights/Big Games for both our teams.... Drop me an email and let me know how it ends up and how your son does......Thanks for the message!

OP: Good Luck to you guys as well, seems like a big night for crosstown rivals. Is OPson on the mound? Give him a Good Luck for me I will be watching the paper/message board for results.

EastsidePanther: Game is at home but you know from past experience w/your stepson that even at home the calls can tend to go the other way.....It is Spring Break this week so the crowds won't be as large but it will be well attended......

TRAIN: If you are at this game, Marcus vs FMHS, sto by and say hi, our introduction is lonnnnnnnnng overdue.... if not maybe we will meet at the Coppell/Marcus matchup.

Isn't it funny how the adults get all worked up about these games and blame someone for the results. You would think it would be the boys, after all they are the ones playing. Do you think we pay the umpires off or do you think that maybe that's just baseball? Some calls go your way and some don't. FM has had it's share of "bad" or should I say biased calls over the years and I doubt the other teams paid off the umps. I remember one where the opposing player slid into 2nd, swiped the ball out of my son's glove with his hand and the umpire called safe because my son "dropped" the ball. The umpire came up later in the game and apologized to my son saying he missed it. Umps aren't perfect, they make mistakes, it's part of the game.

My son has a lot of respect for the players at Marcus and Coach Chumbley and it will be a good game on Tuesday. And guess what? There will be good calls and bad calls, that's just baseball.
NRPMom,

As you and I know calls by the umpire good/bad indifferent will always be a subject of talk on here and I think it just hits a sensitive nerve w/crosstown rivals....heck if we can't blame Blue then we would have to put the blame on the players or coach and it is easier to blame the guy behind the mask..... Big Grin

Tomorrow is a new game and different set of players......it should be a fun night tomorrow and hopefully Blue will be good to both of us.....Stop by and say hello!!!!!

Should be a great game at Marcus. I still remember the 2005 Marcus home game when the Ballpark was jammed packed and you could feel the tension in the air. It what makes high school baseball a great game.

It was a great game, stepson pitched his heart out but the foul ball called fair did us in. But in the end we got last laugh as SLC sent FM home in the 2nd round and we went three rounds deep.

Prediction: Marcus wins with a walk off homer in the 7th.

I was "scolded" as being "demeaining" towards a team....Sounds like double standard!!

Oldbat-never,

I know it's easier to blame the umps over the kids but maybe sometimes the kids should take the responsibility. If they don't, they could grow up blaming others even when they have kids of their own, even years later. My son has learned some pretty hard lessons over the years and as his mother, I ache deeply when he is hurting. But hopefully he is better from these lessons and can handle them more maturely in the future. Sorry for the soapbox but it's tiring to hear some of the same **** year after year, just like train saying we fixed the storm coming through when we played Coppell. The boys handle this stuff better than the adults, maybe we can learn something from them!
Actually, outside of the infamous HR 3 years ago, I don't think we have blamed the umps for anything at the FM/Marcus games......we have hated when we lost and the one time we won, last year, we savored the victory.....

The ruling 3 years ago is just like the replays on Sports Center, it will be talked about for years to come and will probably become an Urban Myth someday......
Well Stated OB!!! Close calls are in ever game and you win some and you lose some. We lost both calls that year against FM but in the long run it helped more than hurt. Wish I could be there to help support the Marcus gang, plus always like to talk to Coach Chumbley after a good game. But the boys from East plays at the same time and need to support younger stepson this year.

I did get to see Marcus throw a no-no against Mckinney North ten days ago.

However I tip my hat to the FMHS baseball team for being ranked #1 this week in the DMN baseball poll.
NRPmom,
No, didn't read it that way, just felt it was general about the games and hopefully you will know mine are the same.......

See you tomorrow, make sure you have JS point me out. I think I might actually be in the stands and not in the pressbox, learning to love the social aspect of the game, only taken me 3 years.

And Congrats to your son, he is having a good year, once again, just tell him to cool the bat tomorrow, PRETTY PLEASE..................

One last thing since you guys have the Weather Gods on payroll (jkjkjk) tell them this is the Marcus/FM game not Coppell.... Big Grin

We'll see if the Keller pitching staff does a better job of throwing to the Grapevine Stud first baseman who accounted for 6 of thier 8 runs in Keller's loss to GV at Highland Park.
KD, you might find it interesting that Dan Evatt, the first baseman, has been moved back to CF where he played all of last year. The CF was moved to LF, and a new player inserted at 1B. Wild time to be changing up the lineup that much! Looks like an effort to add another bat into the lineup.

OBN.......

Yes, he is. Let's hope he can throw strikes this time out. He's struggled the last couple of games with his command. The coaches worked with him after the game last Friday night in the bullpen. It looked to me like he worked out some of the kinks. I think he's ready to get back on the mound and get to work. It should be a great game. I'll let you know how things go tomorrow night. Good luck to Marcus.

Kyle,

He has had a solid year so far, he just hasn't had his command the last couple of outings. He hasn't gotten ahead of the hitters consistently to be able to work the hitter's like he would like. Like I said, I think he got some kinks worked out the other night and he should be the "old" Matt again tomorrow night. I'm anxious to see how he does.

Good luck to you guys tomorrow night.
