How 'bout some Christmas spirit for the Woodman
Oh Woody Man
Oh Woody Man
He is our most-loved poster
Oh Woody Man
Oh Woody man
He's better than a toaster
His posts are great
By morning's light
With photos and smiles
Most every night
Oh Woody Man
Oh Woody Man
You make our days much better.
Trojan-Skipper,
Keep that day job...
p.s. I'm too inept on the computer to post pictures anyway. Saturday, one of my son's friend's, backup QB at Ohio State, gets in the game. By the time I could get the text message typed to tell my son, he was back out...

Oh, no!!!!!, hokieone ! I haven't laughed so hard, just singing Oh Woody Man in my head....and then out loud, once more---with gusto! That was hysterical!

This has got to stop. Woody doesn't have the home improvement funds in the budget to expand the door frames in his home any wider. That head is just getting too large.

Not too big for Sky Chief's flying headcase!
He's been flying me around. We just got back from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. I had to do some strategizing with Phil and his woodchuck cousin Wilbur...Wilbur Wood.

That's pretty good Julie
Wish I possessed the graphic art talent so many of you clearly have, but I don't. I'll just say that Woody has made me feel welcome here since my first day responding to my novice posts with well-intentioned humor. I have the greatest respect for him.
... has taken what could've been a disastrous beginning and risen to the occasion, showing his class and sense of humor as well.
Cheers to you both.

Woody, this has got to feel like the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" sans bridge. You deserve it.
I love this thread!

"Geesh, all these years and I never realized GotWood and Play Baseball were....."involved".
Who knew?"
I bet I'm the only member of the HS Baseball Web who got to have dinner with play baseball one evening, while talking to GotWood on the phone. A memorable evening indeed, getting to know two very nice and fun people a bit better. Made even more unforgettable because the 35W bridge fell down while Annette (play baseball) and I were driving to meet each other!

I always wondered what it would be like to talk to gotwood on the phone, where there would be no pictures. I'm not sure if I'd be able to understand him.

I agree Jpontiac...a lot would have to be left to your imagination...

Great thread. Couldn't stop laughing.
I think I am going to take complete credit for GW's homage. Remember how it all began, GW? Now such a sweet memory, and to think it could have all gone so wrong.
Your not off the Hook yet 3Dot.
We will let you know if your a keeper are not.
hehe
EH
PS, Welcome to the HSBBW.

Allow me to join the chorus in expressing my gratitude for GW's body of work on this site.
As a relative newcomer and infrequent poster, I'd appreciate some history. How and why did GW first come to this site? I may have missed it, but I don't see many references to a current ball player. What's GW's connection to baseball? Inquiring minds want to know.
Here's an idea: GW: Why don't you start with a pictorial history: "Gotwood4sale, the Early Years".

Thank you for those kind words GrabSomePine. I can't tell you how much I admire your name!
How did I get to this site? Would process of elimination explain it? No? I didn't think so. According to my member profile...
Why am I at this site? Probably because this site wouldn't have anything to do with me. Something to do with their bylaws not allowing someone who touts having an IQ of 147 and swears up and down that it's correct because it just happens to be the same as the jaw dropping number of sugar cubes pilfered from the Complimentary Coffee table and then hastily consumed in the lobby of the old 1st National Bank© at Fourth and Main in Tillamook,OR where early one Saturday morning in June of 1962 pretty much the whole town was staging for the exciting 5th Annual June Dairy Parade under gray clouds and a steady drizzle.
I probably could have talked the American Diabetic Association© into having me, but this site, the High School Baseball Web, seemed like a better fit. Like my old Wilson© 'Nellie Fox' Signature glove. That kind of sums it up!
Currently our oldest son is on the baseball team at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. He is, with a stiff south wind (not a tornado mind you), within spitting distance to Fungo in Spring Creek, TN.
Our youngest son was on the roster at Rhodes College in Memphis his freshman year, but he didn't play because of nagging and persistent injuries. The poor kid has had more work done on him then a '72 aluminum block Chevy Vega! He still enjoys the game playing in local adult leagues where the regimen is way less physically demanding than playing anywhere in college. He wishes it hadn't turned out that way, but it did.
We have two lovely daughters who are playing softball in high school. Their skills, in large part, stem from their older brothers' tutelage and their having to virtually grow up entirely on a baseball diamond. They both love the game.
So that is our connection to baseball...our kids!

A pictorial history? I guess it would go something like this...
Gee...I think I'm in there somewhere. One not wearing a dress, but more probably a smile...or maybe a grimace. Perhaps a look of befuddlement. Definitely one of the runts.
I still haven't settled down!
Spent a lot of time running all through this place...my father was the office manager.
Oh the logging trucks! Here's a load of Douglas-fir logs...Paul Bunyan toothpicks!
Rain delay!
This is where my fascination with photos all started. My first job was at a drive-up photo processing store...The Shutter Shanty. This later was springboarded into the Fotomat© chain.

- How did you find out about the HSBBweb?: The Tooth Fairy or Mr. Sandman...not sure which one. Both of their stories were very convincing.
I guess I'll stand by that. Honestly, I'm leaning towards Mr.Sandman. He's less flighty...more gritty. His story has more traction.

Thanks GotWood4Sale for sharing your story in words and pictures.
Gotwood,3Dot,et al,
Thanks for the laughs for the last couple of days, I wrenched my back and torn a muscle in my shoulder on Sunday putting in a faucet and with the pain killers and muscle relaxers the doctor give me, I've never laughed so hard. Of course now my side hurts.
That's why I like this site, a lot of good information and some times just a good belly laugh.

GW,
147 IQ is an impressive number my splintered woody friend...you are the smartest stand of pine I know!
Your smarter than...
...at 137...
You're more intelligent than Shakira...
...at 140...but you have to admit...NOT AS HOT!
But most of all, you are head and shoulders above our main man...
...at 116...
Therefore, I nominate you as president!
Woody for President in 2012!
