Check out the downtown restaurants in Acworth.   It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the fields.  Henry's was our favorite but all of them are great.  +1 to Doug's Place as well.  Marietta Diner is probably too far from LP, but it's very good.  I'd highly recommend going to the new Braves ballpark even if they aren't playing.  The Battery is a cool area with lots of food options.

There's also a good pizza place and a neat old diner on the square in Cartersville.

I thought I was finished going there when my son went away to college, but they actually played a DH there recently.  Apparently, they play quite a few college games at Lake Point fields.  Who knew...

That was my thought, too.  It snowed so much at the beginning of my son's freshman year that LakePoint did a weekend tournament of college teams.  His team was to play Kennasaw State later that season, so two trips driving to Atlanta that spring was more trips to the Atlanta area than we did in a summer of travelball!

For 15u tournament at the end of July, will this be at Lakepoint facility only or spread out with high school fields being used. If yes how for spread out are the locations?

thanks

Last year, Allatoona HS was used for the 17U event, but I think that was it. It’s only about 20 min from Lakepoint. There are plenty of fields within a 30 minute drive for them to use.

Definitely better than PG tourneys based at ECB that have games in Peachtree City, Bremen, or Gainesville, all of which are an hour from ECB easily.

Since we're on food now, David Poe's BBQ in Marietta is an absolute must. It's 20 or so minutes away but if you like BBQ it will be well worth the drive.

I live 15 min from LakePoint but went to David Poe's BBQ for the first time a couple of weeks ago based on your post.  It was amazing.  I've become a BBQ snob and I am easily disappointed with what I get in BBQ restaurants compared to what I do in my own smoker.  But that place is amazing!

Fish Thyme in Acworth and Appalachian Grill in Cartersville are some of our favorites (but both places are a little bit more formal than Henry's).  If you go to Henry's, order their Oooh la la...

Ha-ha, I ALWAYS booked a hotel in the Cartersville area just so I could eat at Doug's Place (in Emerson) as many times as I could!!! Not kidding at all! I didn't care that my son may only have had one game in the immediate area! I definitely ate their at least 7-10 times during a week long tourney.

Another place I feel is a must to eat at least one time (even though I know it may not be for everyone) is 4-Way Lunch in Cartersville.

I feel the same way about my BBQ. I can't wait to eat there again. My son loves the place too, and he never gets real excited except for Culvers.

I'll try the other places you recommended.
