Need some input on best bats out there. Money is tight (I know join the club) and of coarse he likes the $399 ones. Also how long does a metal bat last? He will play 30ish games in H.S., around 75 summer games (2 tournements are wood bat).
Also should he use this bat for practice as long as it's not with a pitching machine or is that decreasing it's life? Any input any any question would be appriciated thanks.

Baseball Dad;

Why does he need the expensive bat?

Years ago, I purchased an Easton 33" green strip for our Legion team, 30 games times 9 players times 4 AB
= 1,080 contacts. After the final game, the bat cracked from fatigue and the local dealer replaced the bat w/o charge. Cost was $0.

Metal bats will have stress points and they can be increased by players using the bat to knock off dirts from the spikes.

Why not buy a used bat until the player learns to use the bat properly. Use wood bats or composite bats in practice to teach the player to hit.

The EXO is one of the $399 bats. It sells for $370 in most places. A company rep told me the difference between the 08 and 90 model is color. He said there's very little difference between the Omaha and EXO if the bat is for one year. The EXO is more durable.

Right now on Ebay:

NEW 2008 LOUISVILLE CB84 OMAHA (-3oz.) B.B. BAT-32/29: $109

NEW 2008 LOUISVILLE CB83 OMAHA COMP. B.B. BAT-32/29: $139
Hey, this is great advice. My son just got a new bat but I hate to see him use this for bp everyday. He has only used it once so far but I never thought to get a wood bat for bp. He has the Easton 12V or V12, whatever, it's yellow. Razz It is expensive but I too am hoping it will last 2 years. He said he was crushing the ball at bp yesterday will it.
