I would have to say your chances of being recruited for college with that set of tools is very good especially if you get out and get seen at showcases. Probably 100% chance of being recruited if the arm is really solid and the player can hit good pitching. But someone has to see the player, so it is up to him and his parents to get him in a position to be recruited.
He has been seen by many schools and is getting a lot of interst from many different schools, Some D1 AND D3 schools as well as many community collages have already made offers, I think the question should have been drafted out of high school. Not that he wouldnt go collage at this stage of his maturity level , was just wondering what the odds are . Have had a couple of pro scouts show up at his games and take his info and talk to me ,not sure if that is common or normal. All a little weird
g man,

Is that 6 foot 6 inches tall? Truthfully, that's on the top of the height scale for ML outfielders of the past, I can think of Frank Howard six foot seven in the 1960's and 70's and Dave Winfield, six foot six. Jayson Werth is six foot five for instance. But if he can run a 6.5 at that height that would be tremendous. Really without knowing more about his hitting, arm and such, its hard to predict his draft potential. If some scouts are asking about him or ask him to fill out some info cards that's a good sign. But there's really no way to say what the odds are numerically, since guys get drafted who you would never expect and guys you think are a lock don't. Sometimes though it just takes that one scout who likes a player and can convince his organization to check the guy out further.
The centerfielder on my son's hs championship baseball team ran a 6.4 60, he is 6'4", decent arm, good fielder.. All CIF bat.

Not recruited out of hs.

Seriously.

Did I mention that he was a 4.0 student?

Parents did one small, local showcase.

The kid would have been rated a PG 10 had he just gone and done one. Ran like chariots of fire. Stole doubles and triples like a veteran thief. Very high ceiling kid.

Now playing at a CA juco. For him it will just take a bit more time to get noticed.
