Kent Meador has been named to replace Oliver at Monterey HS. Currently the head baseball coach at Klein Collins High School in Spring, Tx.

Meador, a 1983 graduate of Coronado High School, returns to Lubbock to lead the Plainsmen baseball team. Meador has led baseball teams to one state semi-final, three regional finals and nine bi-district finals. He was named the district coach of the year five times and was the Houston Area Coach of the Year in 2005. His record at Klein Collins is 153-62 and his coaching record is 271-170.

Meador played college ball at Point Loma College in San Diego, California, before transferring to Texas Tech. He served as head baseball coach at Amarillo Tascosa and at Westfield High in Spring, before making the move to Klein Collins High in 2003. Meador was an assistant baseball coach at Coronado High School for four years under his high school coach, John Dudley.

Good Luck Kent.... your gonna need it! Better have thick skin 'cause your booster club and parents, they are especially brutal!
