I don't have any advanced drills but try this. Draw line from player across plate that goes down the middle of the player to be used as a reference from start of swing to when he finishes. Also have him think of it as if he has a pole the runs down three his head, torso to the floor that body turn on. Not sure if this is clear bc every kid is different with feel and visualization but works for my son. Also, a mirror is a very valuable tool and can be found at Walmart etc for reasonable price; may need a couple.

Exactly.  Its not that I don't believe in instruction at all but it should be a small piece of the puzzle.  And drills an even smaller piece.  I just believe we are way too focused on a bunch of silly useless drills.  The other day saw a dad/instructor/ coach? Working with a hitter who had their back foot up on a chair while they hit.  No idea what this was supposed to accomplish and frankly don't care.  I am good with tees, flips and soft toss.  Other than that just hit either machine pitch or live pitch.  Thousands of swings.

I am right there with you.  Almost asked but then decided to mind my own business because I can't even imagine a response that would convince me to use the drill.  Occasionally I believe there is nothing good to be learned.

Check and see if this hitter is starting his stance in the middle of the body, if so this in its self will cause the hitters body to slide forward with a small step. .

The hitter needs to shift his weight to the inside of his back foot.

Adjustment needed:

The pitchers first motion the hitter will step with his “front leg only“, “keep the weight back.”

What the hitter has done is eliminate the body sliding forward with the swing which in turn will help with better rotation on the back side..

Again, If he keeps his weight toward the back foot.
