... to inform him/her my account is screwing up? I've stopped receiving notifications of likes and private messages.

If a moderator is seeing this I'll see likes on a new post and no notification it was tagged as a like. I've received PMs without being notified. I didn't change any setting before this occurred. Since I noticed I can't find any settings that would indicate notifications are on or off.

Aren't you assuming someone "likes" you.

I was going to say that, but didn't want to be seen as the antagonist.

It was teed up, had to swing.

You two don't have to tell me you don't like me. You've made it very obvious in the past in several posts. Personally I don't care. But you don't need to pile  on like hyaenas cluttering up a thread where I'm trying to get some technical support help.

Lighten up, slick. I never said I didn't like you...you just inferred it. I "like" most people, even ones I disagree with.

I don't want to clutter up — but to RJM's point — for about the last two weeks, my notices in the upper right hand corner is giving me notices for ALL replies on a topic I've address. I used to just get emails for those replies and the number in red would just be notices of likes or PMs, which I prefer. Did something change or is there a place we can change back?

RJM hit take action, report and tell them what's going on or pm Swampboy.

I have had an issue too, someone else had the same. When I sent a pm, I got my pm.  It seemed to have gone away.

While we are on it, the other day I got a message, this is not a secure site. Now I am wondering what's going on.

Don't think that the comments were necessary, will some of you guys grow up!

It's not a secure site. Note that the address begins with http:// and not https://

.... but you're not entering credit card numbers etc. so not really necessary for it to be secure.

I know but I have never seen that message, ever.

Same here. I thought it was just me.

Maybe it's the Russians?

Why not go spend some time playing a few days of golf and we will get back to you on our findings?

Maybe the IT guy that handles all this stuff, was recently arrested (and subsequently fired....finally) for trying to leave the country with a buttload of taxpayer's cash?

Call your rep DWS?

Our IT person is MN-MOM who is the site owner.  She has been notified so hopefully she can look into this.

Moderators (like Swampboy and I) do not have access to site software or any other function like that.  Our role is mainly an editorial function and only if necessary.  Also, we try and maintain the peace between members and keep rift-raft (like advertisers and spammers) off the site.

Seeing same thing as Iowa mom. Alerts from every response from a thread I contributed.

I have been fiddling around with this issue and haven't found an obvious answer. For any members who are not receiving the notifications you expect, please try the following:

Mouse over your user name in the top right corner of the screen.
In the drop-down menu, click on Notifications.
Check the various types of Notifications available, and experiment with those settings.
Report back on whether you are able to get the results you intended.

Thanks,
Julie
