I don't know what the fuss is about, the fact is... if the bulb isn't 90+ watts its not gonna get screwed in anyway! That mid to low 80's bulb can finesse all it wants...It can flicker, turn different colors, or even have multiple watts . But the guys in charge of screwing those bulbs in want 90+. Fact of life, brite bulbs get noticed!!!
(Now remember this is all in good fun....)

10 poster from Ohio/Kentucky/PA/WV to keep the worlds longest American Idol bright "lights" thread going

1 poster from from Min-a-sotta (must say with an accent) to keep the light bulbs in line

1 poster from Seoul, Korea to make sure there is someone with a lightbulb on posting in the middle of the night while those in the US are sleeping

1 poster from Illinois to update us on Whitney Young light bulb scores

1 poster from the forest to give us a light bulb visual via a photo

and

1 poster from a tiny state up north to set the record straight for all those that think they are light bulb experts.

And it's certainly lights out for the poor bulb that happens to short out!
.
Here's a question for all you lighting experts...

My little 7 Watt bulb simply SHINES...he ALREADY has a full tungsten filament...

...We did everything...letters to Home Depot, attended the national home lighting show, sent videos of him turning on and off (a beautiful sight).....

...somehow he did not make the National 7-8 Watt All Bulb List!!...I'm very, very upset!....

My neighbors low voltage, little pen-light, doesn't have nearly the luminescence as mine and HE made it!...

Now I am really worried about his chances of being invited to the 9&10 Watt Nationals in a couple years..

What can I do?

To be blunt
There is a possibility that you are seeing your young bulb through magnified glasses, thus making him appear much brighter than he actually is.

As far as your neighbor goes, I have seen the light in action, LOOKED LIKE A LASER POINTER TO ME! STUD BULBAGE...Quite possible we see him on top of an air traffic control tower some day.

Don't be discouraged though, a lot of wattage can be gained over the years. Keep working on the core AMPS and wattage will certianly improve.

Good Luck!
observer44 ...

Hmmmm dang it ... nowwe have to worry about the politics of light bulb rankings. Have you talked to PrettyGlaringStaff for his thoughts on your little Watt? I tell you, with all the naysayers and political parents and coaches out there, it sure can KILL-A-WATT's hopes and dreams, can't it?

Perhaps you might try this new enhancer, which I understand from many environmentalists, is safe for the atmosphere and more importantly, can't be tested for use by the players:

PS I have been reading Woody's posts far too long now
