2017 went to a PBR showcase last summer, did decent and enjoyed the experience.  He was happy with the state rankings that came out.  Has since hit a growth spurt, increased strength, etc. so wants to attend another event.  I see a local event coming up in January.  How often do your kiddos go to these events?  I'm thinking one a year, as long as they continue to improve.  It would be nice to get some feed back from others going thru the same things as well as the old timers.

First off I am kind of biased when it comes to PBR here in my state(IL.) personally I feel there is no place where your money can be better spent. What type of travel team does 2017 play on?Does the team play in enough high/higher profile tourneys that not only keeps current interests staying active but also is generating new interests?2016 also didn't attend the next showcase unless things were better than last. While I don't think thats the end all putting together back to back bad showcases can't be good. Will 2017 be in good shape for a Jan. event?

Love the name, Proudhesmine!  I think PBR is the go-to organization here in Michigan too, at least that's what I've been told.  Son is going to play on a competitive team this summer--haven't gotten the schedule yet, but they said be prepared to do a lot of traveling and play some tough ball.  Last summer he chose to play on a local team (though they made it down to Notre Dame and WMU tournaments and he performed well) to have a fun year with a great coach and a couple of buds--he had a blast but is ready to get back to a team with a little more intensity and talent.  Training wise, I believe he'll be ready end of January.  He's taking 10 weeks off from baseball and will get back to it in December; currently on a weight lifting/kbands regimen for all over strength and quickness.  He was thinking about another showcase because he's added 15 lbs, grown about 3 inches and added 5+mph(throws in infield, not a pitcher) since the last one.  It's amazing what puberty can do, haha.  I see kids online that seem to showcase every couple of months, but that seems like a lot, unless they feel they didn't do well?

Did your son go yearly? Or more often when he made a marked improvement?

While 2016's showcase days didn't last as long as others I always felt that the 1-3 week period at the end of the season was the best time. With my guy the period of last week of winter training/first week of school ball being a close second.2016 has attended both. With the way things are theres really no way of not going to one showcase someplace once a year. For my input with 2016 what team he played on was just as important as any showcase.Really With things as they are here for us what tourneys playing in is almost as important as what team.Something happened here 4-5 years ago of a permanent situation where we went from hey you want to go there? To whats the best way to get thru things? In a number of ways its been a positive for 2016 tho.In the summer of his 8th grade year(Summer before H.s.)I started doing the behind the curtain stuff.Where to go,(Pbr,PG) that stuff.Where to play.He plays on a solid team.No national type of thing. The most important thing that works for 2016 is how hard he works out of season.Lifting made a huge deal with his devolopment.is your son good enough to get an invite to PBR's furture games? You have to go online to request an invite.Between PBR's showcases and keeping track of how he does in H.S. ball they let out the invites. This last august there had to have been 125+ coaches. The cost is 50.00 and what ever it costs you for 2 days plus driving. It was in Indy last summer.I think its in Chi town in 2015.

There is some progression thru PBR showcases as they get older unless they have committed. proudhesmine is correct., next summer as a 2017 the one you want to be at is the Futures showcase. Lots of colleges watching. The following year (2016) Top Prosepct is the one to get to in early June.

PBR has become the standard in Ohio as well for showcases
