How'd you get your forum moniker?

It seems we have a lot of new members on HSBBWeb, so let’s introduce ourselves by reveling how you decided to chose your moniker.

I received my moniker when a man on a flaming pie appeared to me in a vision and said "from this day forward you are Bullwinkle". Thus it was so.....

Oh no, wait, that's not right…. I was a relatively a hefty guy, so I started with Bull. Naturally most inhabitants started calling me Bulls**t. I switched to Bullwinkle, because I loved watching cartoons. Still do. After I started using Bullwinkle, a woman (that I perceive as erotically exotic…..(please don’t trash my vision and tell me it was a haired back, cigarette smokin’, thong wearin’, balding comb over dude in Mississippi)) told me that Bullwinkle was a cute name, thus I became enthusiastic with the moniker. Except for today, I normally speak in third party, because Bullwinkle is a separate being.

Bullwinkle is hungry for pie.

Aloha

I bought my moniker from Best Buy. I used to have one of those old CRT moniker... you know the real heavy ones that blinked at you when you turned it off. I had a yard sale and was able to buy one of them liquid flat screen monikers. Now that I have a good moniker, all I need now is a new keyborg to go with it..
Well, I obviously underestimated how much I would enjoy this place and want to hang around or I would have thought up something much more creative and witty!

Son's school was "Lafayette" and I think of myself as someone who loves to laugh and I'm a mom! So, when I impulsively decided to join one day - Lafmom!

I have to admit, I've been thinking about a rename for myself. Maybe I need to visit BestBuy. noidea
Fun topic. I wanted a dad in my name so people would have some perspective on who I was. I used the search function for Cleveland and found it was not taken and walla. Bee> posed the question once why wasn't I MentorDad since I live in Mentor, Oh about 1/2 hour east of Cleveland. Two reasons. I work in downtown Cleveland and no one ever heard of Mentor before Smile
Short version: played a lot of softball, but also bowled with most of the same guys. Me and another guy one night decided to have a couple frame showdown [after a few beverages of choice, naturally], and it quickly became a weekly staple. He was a lefty and bowled between his legs; I bowled windmill style. Yup, brought that 16-pounder forward and around before letting 'er fly. Didn't get many pins, but usually got pretty good hang time. It was always "Windmill" after that.
My mind says one thing (20 yr old) my body says another thing ((blank)yr old).

Actually, several years ago when we started our local league we always had an large opening day parade and for a couple of years I tried, unsuccessfully, to recruit a group of women to march in the parade w/bats (sorta like the marching briefcase bargade)wearing grey wigs and housedresses and then I visualized us doing formations/routines with bats.

Never got my recruits so,,,,,,,,since it never became reality, I just figured I would at least use the name someplace.

Guess Baseball just brings out the kid in me.

When we discovered this site, oh so many hundreds of posts ago, there was a post on a thread that we saw...the author was got wood 27.

It just clicked in my mind that if this guy has got wood then I have gotwood4sale...being in the lumber business, this name made sense...and that is the last time I have made sense on the HSBBW!

BTW...got wood 27 and gotwood4sale registered on the same day...June 05,2005.

My moniker came from my outlook as far as teaching pitchers. I compare it to a college degree. 4 years of school and then a year for the masters degree. I beleive about 80% is the tools a kid has and the other 20% is the little things other then mechanics. There's alot of kids that throw the ball 90 mph but, the one w/ the masters degree will almost always come out on top even if he only throws 85. Hence.. MOUNDMASTER is a term for all pitchers to strive for. Besides .. my youngest son was sitting here when I came up with the moniker and he just rolled his eyes Roll Eyes
so.. I knew I just had to use it
When I came on board (some 7-8 yrs ago) I thought I would be creative Winkafter all, my son's name is John Wayne and he has always been called "Duke" by his team mates and I Am His Mom!! Little did I know that a More Famous "Duke" (Zach)would emerge and I would be confused for his Mom...Can't take credit for Zach, but I do love being my "Duke's" Mom!! angel

After son was drafted by the Diamondbacks in '04, I have had several monikers. Got tired of being teased about Chili's dinner special when I was BabybackMomma so I decided a play on words would be fun ... I got the idea from the scout.com website that is dedicated to the Dbacks' minor leagues ... Futurebacks.com... the phonetic pronunciation of my moniker is Future Back DOT Mom

Although I gave this away when I was allowed into the Men's Only Forum, I will repeat it for the ladies and those not yet members of MOF. My favorite player growing up in the 50-60s was Theodore Samuel Williams. I was a left handed hitter, right handed thrower and everyone thought I was weird but I would just say to them, Ted Williams, the greatest hitter ever bats left and throws right. And that shut them up. .344 is Ted's lifetime batting average. Did you get that? LIFETIME BATTING AVERAGE IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES. It was available and I got it.
