My son is a U14 player in MD.

Mine is 14u for 2007.

C,anything else as assigned though historically that has usually been 1B,SS and RHP

Shoot! Mine's only 13 . Do you think he can be a sub? Or how bout bat boy? He's a pretty good pitcher and solid hitter. BTW--We played against Justbaseball's son a few weeks back--Great player!

Who knows....maybe somebody will start a 13u team. If not, I don't see why he couldn't "play up". Now if we could officially get JBB to sign up his son....

By the way guys, I know where we can land a stud pitcher (LHP too I believe) out of TN.

My son is 13U...catching D3 bullpens already.

Young HiHeat is 14, in HS now. Played up since he was 9, late August birthday. RHP mostly. some CF, some MI and C. Bats left.

Gets dirty.

Skinny D is a 14 year-old switch-hitting SS/2B. He's a slasher with a great OBP and runs like a jackrabbit.

Littlepapi will be 14 in April 07. He's primarily a SS, RHP. Should get high marks in all five tools.

There were 4 MD teams there; Waldorf Extreme, Peninsula Pirates, Delmarva Shorebirds Black and Maryland Mud Dawgs. But the only one of them we faced was the Mud Dawgs.

The only team that I've heard much about is the Peninsula Pirates. They tend to do well in their area tournaments (like Salisbury). I've heard of the other teams but we've never played them.

How were the Mud Dawgs?

Beezer, There is a 14yr old here in Dallas that you might pick up(May birthdate) plays for DBAT-16. He is 6'2" and throws in the low 80's.

From what you said in another thread I'm guessing your son plays with the Starmaker Stingrays. My son played against Starmaker at Las Vegas over Halloween 2003. That was a fun tourney that year.

Looks from your pictures that you and I were in Omaha at the same time except my boy played division 2. Looks like your team had a strong tourney run and got to play more games than most.

bkekcs, we did have a pretty good week out there. Went 1-2 in pool play (should have been 2-1) and ended up in the consolation bracket (top 25 go in the champ. bracket and bottom 22 or so when into consol). We ended up in 2nd place of consolation.

That is an awesome tournament and we're going again in '07. Got to play some great teams from TX, WA, CA and CO.

Well, I see some of our team parents are mingling and getting along.

MDBaseball - The MudDawgs were decent I guess. We only beat them 2-1 but it was far from a good effort on our part. We struggled offensively the entire tourney and I think we were conserving pitching for later rounds. But they seemed like a pretty solid team, probably the best MD team there.

Beast - Is the Dallas player your son? If we're having a hypothetical team, I'd like to keep the roster of forumer's kids before we go off hypotetically stacking our team.

Son is actually 15 but I know a guy in the Dominican Republic that can shave a year of his Birth Certificate = he is 6ft 190 lb varsity level catcher. Can he use a -5 bat????

As much as I'd like to say yes, we can't raise the suspicions of the hypothetical sanctioning body of our hypothetical team.

Bummer, I swear I will make him shave before every game and just tell his kids they cant go see daddy play. Not sure what to do about him driving to games.

That reminds me of the movie Benchwarmers. "Of course he's got documentation"

Yes, he plays on the Stingrays. However, he started travel ball a little less than two years ago, so he wasn't in Las Vegas in 2003. I do think the tournament is fun.

OK, mine is an RHP (what else?)/ 3B. I've known very few kids who love the game as he does. Easy to do with 3 older brothers.

I'll toss Boomer in as another backup. He has been playing up in 14U and one 15U tournament all fall. LHP, big stick and the best 1B glove east of the Mississippi!

Lil wagz is a scr*ppy 5'5" with ok wheels and can play some OF with a little attitude and loves playing up. (he'll be 13) How many 13's can you use for your bench?

Every team needs more pitching - My son is a 5'10" 160 pound right handed pitcher, catcher and 1st baseman, clocked at 79 mph this past fall from 60 feet in a 15U tournament. Plays for a top team in Illinois. Anyone need to add an extra pitcher to their roster for next years 14U Battle Of The South?, our team is not going...

Beezer--We don't have any awesome articles but I have stats (but I'm the scorekeeper so you know how that goes ). Maybe we could exchange work for playing time. He's a great kid and will work hard, I promise. Oh please oh please, oh please.

I can vouch for BBfam's son. I've seen him play. He's a keeper!

But we sure needed him this past weekend. Boy did we need him in the last game!
