My 12 yo went to Cooperstown this week. He has been working for months to beat Connor Martin's King of Swat record (Connor is on my oldest son's team and we have been teasing my younger son for months now). Today was his big day. Well, he didn't break it but he did win. I am so proud of him for having the courage to get up there in front of all the people and execute his plan.

Older brother was so proud it brought tears to his eyes and his two younger brothers were running around high fiving. It was kind of like a family effort. Very fun indeed!! Big Grin

That awesome about your son!! I was there with my son's team last year when Connor Martin set the record. I was in awe watching him launch them, two were cheap pop flys but the other 6 were BOMBS!!! As you know Connor is a big kid!! I have to admit from talking to Connor in the village that he is a nice kid and was very modest..his teammates were talking him up big time but he was kind of embarrased by it all.

Was your son on his Cooperstown team? I am proud to say that we beat the Star Maker Stallions on the second day 7-6. We kept Connor in the yard (two shots off the wall mind you..lol). We were the team from NH (NH Diamond Devils).

I just looked at his picture on the website...he isn't small but certainly not as big as Connor was and was not the biggest kid in the finals.

Tell him good job for me!!

I see as of this posting that they are 4-1 and the 25th seed at the moment. That is excellent!!

Redsox-unfortunately my older son didn't get the chance to go to Cooperstown. He is actually league age 15 now but Connor plays on his "soon to be Freshman" team. Connor is a nice kid and his parents are really nice as well. And, that kid can HIT!! I can't even imagine him on 200' fences. He's putting them out at 400' ones now.
