From what I understand, Grayslake threw their stud, who dug a quick 5-0 hole. ZB bats were insane.. Don't have any inside on the Stevenson game, but I am sure someone does...

Great game by Tom Simek!!! Pitched a complete game 4 hitter. Helped out with the bat to by getting the first rbi of the game...Big time game for Tom, definately worth the two hour drive for us to attend.

Belleville West defeated O'Fallon 6-2. The catcher from Belleville West hit the Grand Slam. John Flanagan also hit a home run.

CoachB,
That's the second time the IHSA site misled us. I emailed a HSBBW poster from a nearby school congratulating him on their upset tournament win as posted on the site, only to have him tell me the game was rained out and they hadn't thrown a pitch yet.

...with plenty of reason to be proud! In case you didn't see it, there was a nice write-up in the Trib's Prep Sports today...Chicago Trib Articlequote:Originally posted by Baseball14:quote:Originally posted by htmom:Couldn't miss that Bergen Beach shirt...wondered who you were there to see!quote:Originally posted by Baseball14:quote:Originally posted by htmom:

Actually I wasn't the one wearing a Bergen shirt, that was the proud grandpa of Tom Simek (who plays for Bergen) that was displaying the green & gold.....

Questions regarding rainouts and making up games. If it would continue to rain for the next couple of days and games could not be played Friday or Saturday, does the IHSA allow games to be played on Sunday in this case?
Also, my son was told by his coach that if all of the games are not in by Monday, the highest seeded team goes to the supersectional. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!!

In response to your comment about some coaches just being in it for the money, there are many more efficient ways to earn a paycheck than coaching even if you don't put the time required to do it right. Coaches who do put in the time earn less than $1 per hour. I suggest the coaches who don't want to put in the time, go flip burgers for $5.15 an hour.

Haha Weaver, your brother is a stud, he bombed that ball...but it sounded like a softball. That's the New Trier team in the background, and we're glad that we don't have to face him tomorrow. Good Luck.

Who is going to be first to apologize to Mr. Ormond ? He has backed up his bravado and hype .
Not one person here , including me thought that Young could beat Mt.Carmel except Ormond.
First the sophmores ...now ..the Varsity

Young drops a bomb on Mount Carmel. Young Wins 2-0. Max Freidman takes it to the heart of the order and prevails. Young scored 2 Runs on 4 Hits and 2 Errors. Big Time Win for Young and Huge for CPL.
Elliott Greenhill hits Big Time Double with two out to knock in the first run for Young (Jim Clement scores after reaching on a Single) in the Fourth Inning. Sophomore Gabe Henriques pinch runs for Greenhill and disrupts the Mount Carmel infield which likely causes E-5 throw to put Young up by one more run in a Big 4th Inning.
Max Freidman 7 IP; 0 Runs, 2 Hits. Outstanding performance. Standout play from junior Eric Tabb in Right Field to rob a hit and stop Mount Carmel dead in its tracks in the 6th Inning. Speed Kills!
Congrats to Coach Cassidy who is a Mount Carmel alum.
