iheartbb,
My heart goes out to you! I think that is one of the hardest parts, the first time our kids are away from home and call to say that they are sick in bed. I've gone through it with both of mine (21 and 19). It helps if they have sympathetic roommates ... or a girlfriend!
Hang in there, your son will feel better soon and so will you!
Julie
I agree MN-Mom,...
We know our boys are growing up. Most of them are taller than us and most of them could probably twirl us around up over their head with very little effort, but our mom-heart strings will remain tugged when we get that call that they are sick and away from home. I'm a 40-(ishhhhhhh, emphasis on the " ish " part ) mother of three and had phneumonia a few years back with a blizzard howling outside. I called my mother. I would have given almost anything for her hot honeyed tea and special cinnamon toast.
Of course I could have made it for my self,..but it just wasn't going to be the same.
We both had our heart strings tugging that day.
I think it does get better with time, but not sure it ever truely goes away.
Its a forever bond.
Iheartbb,...I hope your son feels better soon, too.

I know exactly how you feel, first time, son was playing collegiate summer ball 3 states away, on Fourth of July weekend, he called and said he had a "bad headache", actually had a 104 temperature and strep throat, told him to go to local ER, took a year to pay for the visit but was worth it for peace of mind.
