Long time Coach Jamey Shouppe is all of a sudden out at FSU. wow.
Any of you Florida folks see this coming or are you caught off surprise by this move?

The Seminoles finished the season with a 46-19 overall record which was led mostly by the lineup as the pitchers struggled with a Team ERA of 3.81
A team ERA of 3.18 is struggling?

Not sure Whitson is a good example (both his parents are Gator grads)
That's exactly what Shouppe said. Seriously, they are getting out-recruited in Florida, by Florida.
I know a few "stories" from fairly close sources, but nothing to offer a valued opinion about the inner workings of the program. I do know that FSU does not seem to get/retain power pitchers of any significant number (arm slot change philosophy).
I heard that directly from a power -pitcher's dad after the kid transfered out to Austin a few years back. They also think one batting stance fits all, but they are not alone there.
and, though they do go to many of the big events, there is a decent opinion that FSU gets outworked in the recruiting game (maybe not changing with the times as quick as other programs?)
Shoupe told me they ONLY recruit from their Super Duper $1,000 four day Advanced Camps. I said..."Oh well". I knew different. Perhaps he forgot the showcases and tournaments he went to....
