Johny had to sign for more money because his new wife already blew through the 26 million he earned from the Red Sox I think.

A few months ago after buying a multi-million dollar 6,000 square foot house in Brookline, Damon and his wife said they were living beyond their means.

Boo, hoo.

If you saw her closet on Johny's edition of MTV cribs you would have signed for the additional 12 million too...

We shall see. Damon is a fielding liability in that big outfield, especially with their iffy rotation. How old is Randy Johnson, 45?

Damons 2005 .342 away OBP was second to last among Red Sox starters last year. He only beat out Kevin Millar who got on base .333 away from home during his worst season in the bigs, and I can beat Millar to first base. Smile

Don't believe the NY hype. The Yankees signed an aging vet, who has seen better days. Can you say Kenny Lofton?

Damon is 32 not really an old man in my book

With what Damon has now hitting beind him I think NY will be a viable contender

and the Yankees have never had a great CF since the days of Mantle--think about it-- I love Bernie but they always ran on him--must be the Florida sun that is blinding you

RR

Again you missed the boat--what do the White Sox, a one year wonder to date, have to do with the Yankees?
The Yankees contedn every year --do the white sox?

One of the things that has not been widely publicized about Damon, and which many only found out about this weekend from Dale and Neumie on WEEI(Boston Sports Radio), is that as a child Damon suffered from a sever speech impediment, which he spent years overcoming. His hesitance when speaking in public is a result of that history, a fact that makes his willingness to accommodate such speaking requests all the more admirable.
I ask you if he would have signed with Boston and had a press conference on it and spoke in the same(as you say) "uh,uh,uh- can't put a sentence together" format would you of made fun of his disability?

Granted he does have no arm, but you don't need a great arm if you're better at catching the ball before it hits the ground.
