There is a showcase event in the greater Houston area that has been rescheduled for July 8. This is a great opportunity for players to be seen by a bunch of really good Texas JuCo programs - including current National Champion Blinn College and perennial powerhouse San Jac. If you an uncommitted class of ‘24 or ‘25 player, I highly recommend attending. See ad below.

Would love for son to attend but, we will be traveling to Oklahoma for Connie Mack Qualifier. Any chance they will be doing this again, that you know of?

This is a rescheduled event. I doubt very seriously that there will be another one like it this summer. Not in Texas anyway.
The conflict with travel ball tourneys presents a dilemma. I get that. Travel ball coaches won’t like what I’m about to say but it’s the truth. If you are an uncommitted ‘25 player, attending this event (or one like it) will do way more to help your chances of being recruited than any weekend tournament you play. Even Connie Mack qualifiers. It’s unfortunate, but some of you would be better off focusing on camps and not 17u travel ball. With a few exceptions, your travel ball team isn’t going to get you recruited. So you need to get more proactive about going to the best events yourself. Even if it means missing some team events.
My son attended two juco events as an incoming senior (tryout and camp) after both he was offered a scholarship. If juco coaches see what they're looking for, they will offer on the spot. It's a rare opportunity to get in front of so many schools, if the juco route is an option, this is well worth the time.
I've said it before on this site, but juco was instrumental for my son's opportunity to play at a P5 as a junior - the best possible choice for his journey.
Do your homework before attending any juco event.
Learn about any juco programs pipeline in less than 5 mins.

I’m looking into a reschedule date for this event
How do you find out about juco events?
There is a lot of info on Twitter. Follow :
Noah Sharp. The Juco Route. Tad Slowik. King of Juco. VTool Juco
For those planning to attend any of these JUCO Showcases, I would suggest you look at your targeted schools Pipeline and their turnover rate

I agree. That should be standard operating procedure before attending any event. But from time to time I see comments asking about JuCo events - where they are and how to find them, etc. So I’m posting as I see them. These events are used for recruiting and the better players almost always receive offers as a result of attending. You are right that you should know who you want an offer from (and who you don’t) before you attend. But these events are good opportunities to be seen by schools that are in your geographical area

@adbono I'm not challenging your post, we are totally in sync. I'm just putting a reminder in student athlete (families) ear to walk through in the mind the process.
As you are aware post summer ball student-athletes and families like clock work are in scramble mode.
As you've seen on x (formerly twitter), prospect camps are increasing like weeds.
Note, when a JUCO event invites class of 2027, I personally scratch my head.
Removing all emotions:
Regardless of the event, if the student has a interest of moving to a 4 yr school, the student athlete (family) must first review the school's pipeline, as for it points out the coaches network, how he develops players, etc.
Note, depending on the school, their website's Move-On page (if available), is not as up-to-date as needed to understand its success in moving players.

It is all about informing and educating the next group of student athletes, and hopefully save them time and money
Here is another dashboard they should be using to understand the turnover rates of JUCO programs

I didn’t think you were challenging my post. I thought you were supporting it. JuCo is still the wild west compared to the structure provided at most 4 year schools. There is very little oversight at JuCo programs and pertinent information often isn’t readily available. To get a good feel for any particular JuCo program often requires a lot more digging. I think that’s the point you are making and I couldn’t agree more.

Good stuff. Let's get them to dig.
Over the next couple of days, we will be post overviews some schools
Not to pile onto this agree-fest (lol), but another reason for doing an event like this is the unbiased calibration. You'll get instant feedback through interaction and offers, if the coaches believe your son will help their programs.
You don't need to plan on accepting an offer to attend. My son attended a Blinn College (juco) camp after he accepted Hill College's offer because the $50 or $75 was already spent and any day with baseball activities is a good day! $215 max seems like a good deal for unbiased feedback and calibration.
@JucoDad, I prefer an agree-fest to fielding combative posts from people that don’t understand the JuCo process. It really is something you have to experience to have a handle on it. IMO the differences in JuCo programs are bigger and broader than differences between 4 year programs.
Adbono;
In Northern California the JC are placed in a separate conference according to their previous success.
Jerry Weinstein, the famous Coach at SAC City College was placed in the strongest league. The Sacramento area contained 10 JC.
We organized the Chicago Cubs Scout team and played the Northern Cal JC each weekend. Our players were HS players, many of whom were selected by the JC's on their graduation from HS.
Scouts and College Coaches attended all games.

Bob,
We posted this on x last week for CCCAA. Total Number of Alumni at 4 yr schools for the 2024 season

@Consultant @adbono BTW, A user can easily review the number of annual transfers to 4 yr schools.
In this case, post covid Dodge City has place 61 players at 4 years schools
Information is based on the proceeding spring roster. Commits don't count

Adbono,
this is powerful. Similar to my Area Code tryouts. Will you attend?

No sir, I will not attend. I have a very limited travel budget for out of state recruiting events that I’m not a part of.
