Did anyone see this in the new Collegiate Baseball? Looked very interesting, I was wondering what all of you gurus thought about it. Seems like it is a very hard workout, I really cant see my freshmen kids being able to do some of it without killing themselves even with light weight, looks like if you are older such as jr. sr. in hs or in college could be effective.

I haven't seen the specific article/advertisement you are talking about but I have seen the kettle balls. I think they are another tool that can be used in a strength training program. Some types of exercises are probably easier to do with the kettle balls than with a typical kettle ball. I guess I'd say that they are a good tool, but its not like they have revolutionized strength training.

I like those kinds of lifts. Another example that we do are lunges with the bar lifted above the shoulders. The article mentioned that some do not like to do lifts with arms above the shoulder, but we do and we have had great results.

We did the turkish lift today. The kids thought it to be pretty tough, but it worked well as an alternative to mix things up a little.

It's not really that hard. I am in the 8th grade and I do the 16 pound 1-2 a week when I go to my pitching lessons. They only tough part is when you have to hold it above your head and bend down or things like that. The swings, figure 8's and the other ones that stay under the head are pretty easy.
