Others on the west coast will hopefully post, but since I just traveled back from the west coast last week, I thought it would be fun to search.

I went to collegeboard.org and clicked on "college search".  My (your) selections were:  1) 4 yr college or university;  2)  large school, greater than 15,000; 3)  men's baseball D2, 4) location, west. (I will let you research the academics and baseball win/loss records of the schools that popped up):

Cal State Polytechnic - Pomona

Cal State Univ - Chico

Cal State Univ - Los Angeles

Cal State Univ - San Bernadino

Metropolitan State College of Denver, CO

San Francisco State Univ

Univ of California San Diego- La Jolla

Are there others?  If you want to see colleges with less than 15,000, you can plunk that in as well.

2014 Prospect;

Sonoma State will accept only 10% of the applications each year. This school once know as "Frisbee U" now is known as a major academic in the fields of Sports Management, Kinesiology and Physical Education. They are currently ranked in the Top 25 for baseball.

Depends on your major but the top two on the list above were UCSD, and Cal Poly Pomona.

When we were in the search mode I found that most DII's, tended to be lower level (from an academic standpoint) state schools. Check out NAIA also. Higher academic programs tended to be DIII (and D1 of course)

I would go to Boyds world and look up DII programs and bounce them off of USNews academic rankings list to come up with target schools

Good luck.
