Midlo Dad & BUM, No disagreement related to working hard to get stronger and gain MPH. My point relates to kids getting too concerned about something that is typically slow to happen.
Corky9999, I think we agree. What I'm saying is do all those things necessary to maximize velocity. Work your tail off. If you happen to be a bit behind at the moment, don't worry.. is that what you're saying?.. I agree! Many members on HSBBW can testify about their own son's spike in velocity, including me. But IMHO there are no shortcuts to success. It takes what I call the 4 P's: patience, perserverance, planning, and proactivity.

i agree, and ya gotta love a lefty.
im a left-handed pitcher. im 16 and i throw high 70s low 80s and and varsity hitters still struggle with that. speed will come, but if you can spot the ball that is worth so much more.
