That was a fantastic play by Japan on what should have been a sac fly.  Gunned the guy down for double play.  IMO, that was the game winner.

Strike zone looked awfully tight today.

Personally, I don't think the Chula Vista (my brother played for them in the 70s; I was too youn) 3b coach should have sent the kid home on a moderate depth line drive right to a charging left fielder. Would still have been bases loaded with one out. The next batter swinging at a 1-hopper to the plate with a full count helped seal the loss.

Same old LLWS strikezone, as in: love that outside pitch, which might expand to 4-5" off the plate if it was a good-looking curveball.

For all of you who are complaining about everything that is wrong with the LLWS, keep in mind that it wasn't created to be a "tv" event.  It's televised...yes, and based on the comments here, all that most of you know about it is what you see on TV.  Do yourself a favor....especially if you have a son anywhere from 8-18....and take a trip to Williamsport...even if it's only for 2 or 3 days.  All your complaining about why they do this...or why they do that...or who is umpiring...will go away.  We've been there to watch the tourney twice....once when my son was 10 and again when he was 13.  He's 16 now and wants to go back EVERY year.....as do all 8-10 of his friends who've been there in the past.  Heck, only 3 of those 10 played baseball past the time they turned 12.  Unless you've been out there, you'll never get it.  TV is designed to show the games....but that's only a very small part of what the LLWS is about.
