Absolutely! I might add that if you will take a piece of surveyor’s ribbon about 4' long (1” wide colored plastic) and weave this into the netting making a circle, this will give you a target to throw to and you can accomplish the same as throwing to a person. A bucket of balls is needed to reduce your “retrieval” time. Smile My son used to do a lot of this.

Concur with Fungo.

I'd also like to offer another suggestion for long toss that you can do at any field by yourself.

Here's what my son does since I read an article about Nolan Ryan's off season long toss work out. What he'd do is take a bucket of balls and dump them out at the pitcher's mound. He'd pick them up (the bending helps with leg strength) and throw all the balls into the backstop.

Pick up the balls and repeat the process at 2nd and then from center field.

This has really worked for my son.
