If you had a MLB Bureau tryout and an individual MLB team tryout coming up soon and both are only 4 days apart, which would you attend and why?
Also, the waiver they have you fill out before attending, is that standard or is there the risk of losing your amateur status by signing it?

YGD,
The D1 rules covering this are 12.2.1.2 and 12.1.2.3.
Before a player enrolls full time in college, he can attend any professional team tryout, and accept reimbursement of actual expenses.
Once he has enrolled, a expense-paid tryout can only last 48 hours. If the player pays his expenses, the tryout can be any length of time. In either case, the player is not allowed to miss any class to attend the tryout.

As is usually the case with D1 being the most strictest of all, I'm sure it's even less stringent for, say, those who play NAIA...???
Also, the tryouts are in June so school is out for the summer. I should've stated that I suppose.
And he would be driving his own vehicle to the tryout. They are both local.
So signing that waiver will have no adverse conditions? It's the part on there that says "giving up substantial rights by signing it" that kinda makes me shiver a bit.
Here is a copy of a waiver:

YGD,
I just saw this thread and I believe that the part of the waiver that says "giving up substantial rights by signing it" is referring to the parts of the waiver just ahead of that statement that have to do with suing the team in case of injury at the tryout and is not referring to any eligibility issues.

As long as he's not a pitcher go to both, the reason: why not?
Thanks again 3Bagger. I was just being overly cautious I suppose. But we all know when it comes to the NCAA we must be nowadays.
I agree CollegeParentNoMore. He is a pitcher and therefore that's why I was wanting to know which one was probably best to attend if you had to choose 1. He has already decided the one so now I can just sit back and sip my coffee. I love not having to make decisions when I dont have to. lol

I have some PMs out to knowledgeable folks but thought I would ask this here as well. How long do these camps usually run?
Trying to prep travel coach for games later in the day an hour away.
