Does anyone have any details over the Marist basketball coach that was suspended by the IHSA?
It was reported in the Sun Times and mentioned
IHSA assistant executive director Kurt Gibson was quoted in the paper stating" The coach was suspended by the IHSA for violations of our seasonal limitation rule and our recruiting rule."
The specifics of the rules violated were not disclosed. I think it would be helpful if the violations or at least a little more info was released. Maybe Coach B can help with this. Why would the information be kept from the public? I can understand protecting the names of kids, however, if rules were broken, even minor infractions, they should be made public. The info could help prevent others from the same mistake.

Tuzi, Your probably right, just curious about what the infractions were. I still can't find the info from a high school in the South coached by Rasmus. The schools baseball team was suspended for holding an off-season practice or workout that wasn't approved by the local governing body. Something else about transfer students (baseball stars) joining the district. Schools need to be careful particularly football programs if the kids get together on there own fine, but if the IHSA gets any inclination that it was at the direction or motivated by coaches..Big Trouble awaits.

Tuzi, I have noticed that those guys have not been around as well. Rosy & CoachB havn't been around much either and probably a few more that aren't coming to me right now. Playball2 has been a nice addition to the board as well and he hasn't had anything to say either.

Hopefully they are on cruises or on some warm beach.
I can say that a few people here have been discouraged by some of the garbage that has gone on here. If you guys are in the peanut gallery and are unhappy about the presence of a certain individual, you are letting him win by dissapearing. I'll risk soxnole inferring something from this, but we miss you guys.

If you want to ignore, just ignore the poster!
I guess even the dads have to take a little time off to gear up for the exciting Spring season that is quickly approaching. I myself like to just sit back and put baseball out of my mind while I wait for my son's opening day game in 77 days, 6 hours and 46 minutes. Winter is the time to think of things other than baseball.
I have to say, however, that with the great weather that we have been having, it is very hard not to be thinking about the upcoming season. Whoever thought that we would be willing to trade a day from the first week of January for some of those cold damp/rainy day that we get in March and April?
Regarding any comments from any offical spokesman on a suspension - I'm sure that both the IHSA and Marist IHSA representatives are reviewing the case and so, no comment. Within any such occurance, due process is still the backbone of the system. Naturally, this also takes time. It is prudent of all involved to hesitate to speak openly of any ongoing investigation and or suspension until they have properly documented everything. However, I can't speak for them. I can speak from experience that due process is very time comsuming and take note that school officals actively work in any institution as officers of the IHSA to ensure that everyone be dealt with fairly.

One further note, I ofen am critical of the IHSA in circumstances like class expansion. However, all involved in that organization do a fantastic job. We really are blessed with an outstanding bunch of people who daily have the welfare of the athletes of Illinois first and foremost. JMHO!

Fastballdad, I'm trying to be a Dad. My girl is attending a lot of camps and/or practice and has played in a basketball tournament in the past couple of weeks. I run a camp and have been asked to join a baseball business. So, I've gone over there to check that place out. Until tonight, I didn't have the internet at home and so, I just ran out of time. I'll be around a lot more now.

BTW, thanks for noticing. That's a lot better than saying I've returned while everyone else ask, "was he gone." LOL!
