What is the deal with LIU? Why wouldn't you move quick? The assistant there has been there over 20 years and the 2nd assistant is the nephew of the old coach. Why not just promote from within?
Other wise, I am waiting for a response from my resume!!!
The writeup on the Marist web site says he signed 25 players for the 2006 season for the University of New Orleans. Isn't that an awfully large number of signees, even by the standards of some of the top D-1's (ASU and others)?
Dennis Healy fits with Marist as he too believes and is dedicated to the development of the whole person in a way that will prepare the student-athlete for an enlightened, sensitive, and productive life in the global community of the 21st century.
It will not surprise many should Heals win the MAAC (again) in 2006, yet this time compete in the NCAA's Regionals.
Two things are clear:
1. TW loses a valuable asset and friend for the past five years (ie GW & UNO)...yet may gain an excellent and former Sienna assistant coach.)
2. The boys of summer ball who played for Heals will remember when!
Hey Bear.....Just wondering.....That excellent and former asst. coach from Siena wouldn't be Bill Cilento would it???? Wondering where he's coaching lately. Good luck where ever he is, but only if it's not in the MAAC.
Healy was one of the reasons we were (and still are)considering UNO. He is a really good pitching coach and leader and worked closely with Tom Walters who IMO is a great coach and person who will make a difference immediately. He started his Fall season- pre Katrina- with 22 new players on a 32 man roster, as Healy stated. Thru all the turmoil, the UNO program managed to only lose one player and Coach Healy.
