Hi all,

I currently am using a 34 inch Wilson a2000 mitt with the old two piece pocket, and am thinking about switching to the All Star 3000 series because Wilson does not make that model anymore. I am debating whether to get the 33.5 or the 35 inch glove. I really like my 34 and hate my old 32.5. Wondering if anyone has ever switched from a 34 to a 33.5 or 35. Any input would be helpful.

My son just switched to the All Star glove 33.5". He says the fingers are longer than his old glove which was a Nakona Blood Line 32". He is currently breaking the All Star glove in now,and loves it. The 35" with long fingers may be to much glove, where as the 33.5" is only a 1/2" smaller than what you are already used to. Good luck with your new glove.
Sieve22,

A catcher's mitt is the most personal piece of gear we have. I could recommend a few great models, but we have different preferences when it comes to gloves. I love small mitts because they let me get into and out of the glove quicker when making a throw. I also don't feel as if the extra leather on the glove is costing me strikes. Some guys prefer bigger mitts because they know the ball has no shot at popping out.

My suggestion is to find a local indoor facility that has a pro-shop and start trying different gloves on to see if YOU like it. All-Star mitts are my preference, but I used Wilson mitts for a while. Both are incredibly durable when you are talking about the higher end models and when properly taken care of.

It may seem like a stupid comment, but only you can tell you what feels right on your hand while behind the dish.

Hope you find a good one!
for whatever it maybe worth:

Correction, my son has been using a 32 inch glove for most of the past season and was happy with it. He has two new 32.5 gloves however he didn't break one in soon enough for the season and is now considering getting two additional 32 inch gloves rather then finish breaking in the 32.5 inch gloves for nex year.

btw he is 6'3" with fairly large hands.
