I've thought this for a while. If students actually got classes in a number of topics, like how to deal with the media, how to hire a lawyer/agent/publicity person and how to invest for the future, in addition to everything else you need to know to pursue a pro career, maybe there would be fewer pro athletes who lose their jobs for bad behavior, or end up broke at the  end of what should have been a lucrative career. Admission would have to be granted only to those with the potential to play at the next level, which means it would probably be a fairly small program at most schools, but it's an interesting idea.
