In the west I would have to take either Barrington or Palatine. In the east, no comment.
looks like schaumburg took a big hit. some others will need to set it up...i think the west is barrington and palatine and in the east look for prospect and eg.
I think Conant could be 1-3 in the West. They are alot better than people think....SHS lost alot..Barringtons always good......after those teams its wide open
nyyankee,
how soon we forget about Palatine and Fremd. maybe 4th in the west..

Coaching against many of these players in the past, I would have to say it will be Barrington and Palatine in the west. With the loses that Schaumburg has apparently taken (two players that hit over .370 last year), many of their other players will be required to step up big this season. They have a good coach as do the others above that I mentioned.
EG might be in the position to make the move in the east, based of their success this past summer. Others to watch might be BG and Prospect. A darkhorse might be RM.
Overall, it will be a very good league to watch. Good luck to all of you. There is a lot of talent out there.
Fastball, I enjoyed your comments....

Does anybody have any thoughts on Rolling Meadows? They were an impressive team the last few years, but I know they've lost a lot of those top players.
RM should be OK. Their pitching should hold up and they have a few good juniors that will be starting. I would say they will be in the thick of things in the east, as usual.
STL,
What's Conants line-up look like?

Any preseason picks for all-conference? East and West players of the year?
I'll make a few guesses but only about Barrington kids. I'm sure the other schools haev plenty of good players who will be all conference, but I'll let them do the talking.

EG12 is Copeland?
Yeah
Elk Grove looks good. Good senior class bolstered by a very good junior class.
Congrats to Grant Monroe and the rest of the Saxons as they head downstate this weekend!
What about the East? Hersey and Prospect are usually pretty good. EG has a lot back and had a very good summer. Wheeling made a surprise run in the playoffs, and aren't most of those kids back? Any players stand out?
I read that Monroe won't be ready for the season. Not just because of their run into the elite eight for basketball, but because he has a strained right shoulder or something. Hopefully, just some good old high school speculation. Grant is an awesome kid.
heard the same thing about his shoulderquote:Originally posted by eg12:

Eh, it's too bad.
Well, ND gets to see Prospect, Hersey, AND Barrington early. So I guess I can give you some info into your predictions. We get Rolling Meadows too later on, and we want to cream them after last year.
i just heard that grant monroe will in fact be out with a separated shoulder.

how are the cougars doing??
Elk Grove is 8-0
Elk Grove isn't just winning games, they are blowing teams out.
well right now we only got one game in (11-7 over Maine South)...we got lake park on monday then cary on tuesday. it kind of blows that we only have 1 game in when other MSL teams have 5 or 6 games in already.
11-7 thats a good win. 2 homers not bad. congrats dude
stl, why only one game so far?
rainouts pretty much, we should have in four games. Not too many games were scheduled over break. It did give me a chance to go n scout out a few schools though, i saw five or six other teams play, so thats ok i guess.
You did get to watch one of the better teams in the area for several games i believe too. Am i correct?
Well stlcards18, your scouting of the many teams in the area could be helpful to you but i have heard that your team during the break really wasnt preparing for the upcoming games. Do you think they are ready for a high caliber team like Lake Park?
Being a student and a player of the game i believe that Ryan Copland from Elk Grove is one of the best pitchers in the area along with the mighty Colin Bates from Naperville Central. They also can mash at the plate giving themselves runs to work with.
To tell you the truth wulbs I don't believe they are ready for LP. LP is solid expecially SWEEEEKKKKKIIYYY how ever u spell it their 2nd baseball. Conant has had several days away from prac with a ton of time off. Theres only one wya to get better and thats practice.
Does anyone have any scoop on St. Charles East??
curve, you have pm
STLcardnls18...
