Hey LA,

I think you commented not too long ago that the program was below average.  So, then, this could only be a good thing - no where to go but up. 

 

A few other things to keep in mind..

-Coach changes at the HS level are quite common these days.

 

-Better there is an opening now than December or January.

 

-There are an abundance of talented baseball guys in SoCal looking for their shot at the head job of a HS program.  Hopefully, your son's school will bring in one of them.

 

-Regardless, son needs to keep in mind one of the old sayings - control what you can control.  Someone will be sitting on the bucket.  Son just needs to work hard, play hard and enjoy playing the game, regardless of who's steering the ship.  A player who really loves to play won't let a coaching change affect that.

 

For Dad's peace of mind, I don't think it is out of line to ask the AD how the search is going when you see him at the next (fill in the blank)
