Players who have been diagnosed and prescribed stimulants for the treatment of ADHD can get an waiver for the drug test results through the NCAA---I think that is correct? How does one go about requesting this? If that is not correct can someone please explain the rule for Dr. prescirbed treatments for ADHD.

A waiver is available. Here's how it worked in our case: When our son first arrived, he contacted the team physician and gave him a copy of his prescription. The physician then coordinated the waiver-granting process with the university's Compliance Department. To the best of my knowledge, nothing else was necessary from then on.
The best way to deal with this is to work through the issue with the coach, athletic office and team physician. They should know how to request the waiver. If they do not they should have the proper contacts to figure out how.
