PSA to JuCo sophomores and ‘25 HS grads : If you have a scholarship offer on the table that you like - take it & sign your NIL on November 1st. Even if it’s at a level below your expectations!
Things are only going to get worse as time goes on. In the next 12 months over 2,000 D1 players will be cut and as they find new homes they will displace other players. This is quite possibly the worst time ever to be recruited into college baseball. Many good players will not find a place to be. You don’t want to be one of them.

Adbono, NLI’s were recently abolished by the NCAA. Most summaries indicate the decision is immediate.

it is being replaced by a contract and scholarship concept. Apparently that is evolving but should be in place by 11/1.

An added complication!

Thank you. I wasn’t aware that NLI was done away with effective immediately. I thought it still applied to the current recruiting class.

I received the newsletter from Rick At Informed Athlete this morning regarding the above changes. Very informative. I asked if he post that info here but think he is on vacation.

Rick is a member of HSBBW. I suggest that any parents of prospective players, no matter what division join up. It's free and informative.  There is info on Jucos as well.

I read online that the 2024,2025 D1 baseball roster limit will be 40 players, 34 full scholarships. This was granted essentially to ease the roster adjustment that will be in force in 25,26.

Has to be confirmed.
