The Bears are very happy.
The Tigers not so much.

Yes they are. Good hire I think.
Nice story. Neu recruited/coached a family friend. Took a 6' 5" RHP 88-92 turned him to a sidearm reliever at 82-85 and ended up only throwing 25 innings over his career. Player loved the team and his coaches. They honored his scholarship over the 4 years and he graduated with a degree from Cal. Not bad!

I am a little confused. They took a 6'5" kid throwing high 80's/low 90's, and ruined him, but that is a positive?
Nice outcome for UOP - Ryan Garko unexpectedly hired as new HC. Unfortunately, word is that they've lost at least one key recruit.
UOP lost a recruit due to hiring Garko or to losing Neu? I would strongly advise that kid (if true) to meet and talk with Garko. His rep is off the charts in terms of being a player's guy. Considered absolutely the best clubhouse guy at Stanford in last 30 years. Some Stanford folks wondering why he wasn't hired there.

Sorry for the confusion. He got hit hard over the top with straight 88-92 and was in jeopardy of getting cut . No one understood switching the kid to side arm. They saw him as a reliever and felt that dropping him down would help. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as planned.
The positive was that they kept him on scholarship and graduated with a degree from Cal.
