Trying to decide if its worth arriving a day early for the combine, in advance of the July 15-17 tournament (HS Division)

I'm not sure how good it is but I think my son is going to try it this year.
My son hated this event and he said the showcase piece was the weakest he had ever attended.
Any details on what he 'hated'? Thanks
Not really a big draw for the larger showcase orgs in the northeast and except for the local schools, not many people flying in for this one... plus that's at the back end of the 17u wwba so bad date in general for it

Avoided the Showcase day, but participated in the tournament:
For what its worth, son's alternate travel team, the RI Gators, participated in this and won 7 games in 3 days, including 2 at gorgeous Coca Cola Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons. 30 High School teams from Canada and the US. Smattering of college coaches.
Bottom line the Gators won the HS Division and had a blast PLAYING baseball in a very well run tournament at mostly pristine fields (couple of dust bowls mixed in). And Buffalo itself was fun.
Chalk this one up to a good time for the players but not a recruiting mecca.

I had a good time while i was there it definatley wasn't the best tourney but i had a few problems
1. they did not bother to rake the fields the mound were in horrible condition
2. the showcase was awful got 10 swings just local colleges
3. no college coaches at any games, not just mine
I'd say it was right there with triple crown tournaments by the experience but the competition was much better

To be fair we did have college coaches at at least some of our games, and you couldnt find better mounds than the ones at Coca Cola Field and St. Joes. The other two fields were real dust bowls.
