OP, the fall will be lots of fun but wait until next summer when ever Big XII, SEC, ACC, Ivy League college you can think of will be at your son's every game. This past summer was so exciting my 17 year olds. Now on the otherside, you guys will have to play my 18 year olds next summer; take it easy on us old men.

Smile

Welcome to the family, Doug. I've got another spiffy new lid just for you....

Maybe MN-Mom will start a new DBAT forum. She can put it right at the bottom under Texas. I wonder what the over/under on that forum would be for surpassing Texas and Illinois combined? Smile

that is what others would do.

They may not in a public format, but I can assure you that many feel the same as I do. I guess I just don't get it... DBAT's record should stand for itself. I don't see a need for DBAT and its parents to promote themselves. I have always told my boys that if you are really good at something... you don't need to tell anyone. They will already know. My examples are to them:

1) Michael Jordan has probably never told anyone, "Hey, did you know I am good at basketball?"

2) Einstein probably never had to tell anyone, "Did you realize that I'm intelligent?"

While you may view it as harmless posting, I am certain that it puts a negative light on DBAT in many people's minds. DBAT has a great reputation and they should rightfully be very proud of that... why risk losing something you have worked so hard for at in at least some avenues?

Oh... JMHO.

Momandcpa,

Kermit Dow emailed me your post this morning and asked me to read it. I agree with you 100%. This message board does nothing for me or my business accept cause me headaches. I am asking all of my DBAT people and parents to not put the word DBAT in any of your post. Maybe then the message board will die. I do appreciate that our parents are proud to be apart of DBAT. But the self promoting is a problem. Also all the other non DBAT people on this site get tired of DBAT being the center of Dallas baseball. One thing I have learned about baseball is “everyone loves to hate the winner”. New York Yankees enough said.

Thanks Cade Griffis
Two thoughts....

1. These boards do serve some positive benefits and information sharing for interested parties. I would be disappointed to see this message board die.

2. Dallas is a big place...there is room for more than one winner (good team/club) in the area. I congratulate Cade and his organization for what they have put together but I also recognize there are other teams/coaches/clubs providing quality baseball in the area.

There is no ego issue here is there???? You think this site would die without the beloved DBAT? WRONG. You win a championship and it goes to your head. Next I will be calling you George junior! Gosh... with all of our championships I do not believe we ever made that bold of a statement "DBAT being the center of Dallas Baseball".

Wake up....its Monday.
Like I said nothing but trouble here. I never compared DBAT to Yankees. Just a statement. People that are Red Sox fans hate the Yankees, people that do not play for DBAT don't like us. That is life. Also the statement about center of Dallas baseball. What I meant was the center of the HSbaseball Website. Honest and unbiased aka Train I knew you would have something smart to say. You are such a baseball guy. This is my last post.
H&U...I knew the day would come. Big Grin

THE BEAST...heard a few went to other organizations (left the Yankees). I never heard they cut any of them. Sorry to bring up a sore subject but over recruiting finally caught up with this champion! Smile Thats why we only keep a small number and did not want/need any Yankees on our team. What did they have only about 5-6 from the Dallas area and the rest from the great State of Texas..... Ask SWAC he was the manager.

SWAC....when is the parade to celebrate the championship?
Ahhhh,

I knew it wouldn't stay slow for long on here. Big Grin

Cade, please make no further effort to justify you or your organization.

Just know that what you do is good enough. As long as you can lay your head on your pillow each night knowing you have helped take care of your family and a few kids along the way, that's all you need to worry about.

Other than that I use this............
I can't speak for the team obviously, but I know there are a bunch of kids on the team that my son has played against for years. I didn't go to the practice yesterday, but from what my son said, he was one of just a few new players, most of them were returning.

I do know that all select teams use the fall as an extended tryout period for the summer

Concerning players coming up thru DBAT's system; I can't speak on their individual teams as my son has never played on a DBAT team, but I do know that guys like Cade and Kyle as well as their instructors like Chris Edelstein and others have been very instumental in helping many young men in the Dallas metroplex reach their baseball dreams no matter what team they played for.
