From BaseballAmerica.com:
• Want some very early returns on the effect of the BBCOR bats? Our friends at collegesplits.com offer this nugget: On opening day 2009, home runs were hit in 2.8 percent of balls in play. In 2010, that rate was 2.9 percent. On Friday, it was 1.9 percent—barely higher than the rate in the wood-bat Cape Cod League (1.6 percent).
Sidebar: And that 1.9% was skewed by JMU yesterday.
That JMU score is crazy!
37-7 with 10 HR's and 28 hits!
Bucknell site said wind was blowing out to left field. Anyone attend this game?

Do any of you "experts" know of any OFFICIAL word on certain bats with bbcor .50 stamps being banned from play this year? Early RUMORS from practice/tryouts this week have indicated the bat we just purchased may not be legal yet it meets the labeling requiremnts.
On February 17, 2012, the NCAA informed Marucci that they decertified their 33-inch Marucci CAT52 BBCOR bat. The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has adopted the NCAA’s ruling at the high school level. Effective immediately, the 33” Marucci CAT52 BBCOR bat will not be allowed for use in NCAA or NFHS baseball competition.
