Patriot:

Stone Bridge over Fairfax in the 2nd round of Liberty District in eight innings, 6 - 4.

National:

In the semifinals, Yorktown hosts No. 4 seed Edison and W-L plays at No. 2 seed Stuart. Both games are at 6 p.m.

based on lacrosse- it looks like the Concorde will start out at Patriot and the National at the Liberty.

Cedar Run:

Battlefield 10   Broad Run 0

Finals (and play-in to see who is the final team...district sends 3 teams to regions) on Friday night.

National District:

Top seed Yorktown (17-4) defeated the Edison Eagles, 5-2, and No. 3 seed Washington-Lee (12-10) downed the host and No. 2 seed Stuart Raiders, 12-4.

The teams meet Monday night at 6 p.m. at defending champion Yorktown, which defeated W-L twice during the regular season.

Saw the Lake Braddock/TC Williams game. Grosser was not pitching. LB looked very impressive in all facets of the game. Formidable. Nice evening for HS baseball.

LB is tough.  Expect them to throw Rodger who only goes a few innings a game. (Had TJ's surgery last fall and throwing already.)  I heard he has a restricted pitch count.  Even though LB has/had a lot of injured players - they are deep. 

Here is my Call at early April. Still feel they are the best pick.  I have seen Madison a few times and they are getting better.  Not sure of any other team in the league of Madison and LB.

Rogers threw 3 or 4 Friday against TC. Look for either Supko (Canes '15) or Darcy (Canes '14) tonight for Lake Braddock.

Oakton topped Chantilly 5-4 to take the Concorde. Chantilly built up a two run lead early, Oakton came back with 3, and that was the score going into the seventh. Top 7 Chantilly scores two on a couple of hits and an error. Oakton comes back with two in the bottom of the seventh: with men on first and second, Kyle Burger drove a double into the gap to win it for Oakton. For Chantilly, Eason Recto pitched a great game, but ran out of gas in the seventh with one out. Wild game.

Oakton plays TC Williams @ OHS on Friday in the first round of the Northern Regionals. Probably means facing Alec Grosser. Oy.

South County beat LB 14-3.

Soco upset lake Braddock 14-3.  Led 4-0 after the first....7-0 after 2nd.  Braddock pitched 5-6 pitchers but the stallions were hitting tonight. Scott Dunn pitched 5 innings, Michael Smith finished up.  The Stallions have been under the radar all season.  Great win for first year coach Smith.

LB ran into a buzz saw. I struggle to call it an upset, Soco looked every bit as good as LB. 

Wow, you win and get TC and it's highly rated pitcher.  You lose and get LB...

I think I have this right for the other 2 Districts Friday:

And if seeds hold form, on Monday it's LB vs. Madison at Madison. That's a quarter final game!

Makes it an easy decision on where to be on Monday!

Interesting night coming up, weatherwise. Cold & wet...

...and windy: 20-25MPH depending on location. Wind chill may drop things into the low 50's/high 40's. It's Memorial Day weekend, right?

Very wierd...looks to be high 40's low 50's tonight (no rain) and then up to 90 on Wednesday! 

Likely will help those with strong pitching tonight...

FWIW, heck of a tournament so far. These last games should be barnburners.

Jess,  All I am saying is if you have 1/3 of your team on the field ALL- REGION it seems you should have more to show for it then a win against Edison and West Po  in the regionals.
