It seems the NR starts playing its full schedule later than the rest of the state. Anyone have any results to post?

Lake Braddock beat Robinson 12-1 Friday, and I believe Robinson lost 3-2 to Annadale earlier in the week. Not certain if that score is correct.

James Timbers, Loudoun Valley baseball player and Stone Bridge coach who passed away from cancer in January, was honored before the game. James Timbers son threw out the first pitch.

Freer started and pitched to 5 batters in the LB game Friday night.

That game was kind of ugly. Lots of errors and poor pitching by Garfield that last inning to hand the game over to Stafford. Just wondering...was that the
starting lineup for Stafford that will be playing in the district games? That lead off batter, Beacorn, really helped Stafford that last inning.

Your right bbfan, that was an ugly played game and to top it off the Blues were making it hard for both sides with some pretty bad calls. I guess everybody, blues included, are trying to shake off some rust. I thought the Garfield starting pitcher did well for the first 3 innings, but lost his composure and was not a factor after that. The Stafford team didn't help themselves either by having some scoring opportunities that they couldn't capitalize on. Twice had bases loaded, once with 1 out and the other with no outs, but didn't score. The only thing these kids never lost was their will to win and play the game hard til the end. That is some good coaching and some players who believe in themselves. Stafford was without their #1 pitcher and hitter who will be back in 2-3 weeks.
........and both Garfield and Stafford are definitely in the NW region.

Madison got off to a poor start against Fairfax but came back to win, 11 - 5. Madison gave up 5 in the first two innings and was down 5-1, but tied it in the 3rd with the help of some sadly inept defense, esp. an F2 who threw 3 balls into the outfield, allowing runs each time...

Just as bystander who doesn't know Wahl except as a great pitcher with a future: doesn't that seem like a lot of pitches, particularly this early in the season? On the other hand, I'm sure his coaches know better than me.

agreed. This kid is most likely going to be drafted in the first couple of rounds. I doubt 110 pitches is going to ruin his arm.

I would have no problem with that. 100-120.

Wahl threw 104 pitches, which is enough to have a conversation about, considering it was his first outing of the year, and it was a chilly evening in March. He was throwing consistently 88-91 on the gun throughout the game. He's a big strong kid, i think he was taken out at the right time.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread but arm injuries are a major problem for H.S. pitchers. I don't know whether mechanics, genes, preparation or the number of pitches is the cause....110 now 104, just caught my eye...I certainly wasn't trying to call out the coaches.
