A lot of very good teams in the tournament this year and it looks like it should be a good one. Tough draw for Oakton who has to face Battlefield in the first round because of their recent forfeit.

Loudoun Valley 2, William Monroe 1 in Conf 28, 3A semis...terrific game by both teams. DeGroat was DeGroat: CG 12K, 4 hits (now 8-0 on season). LV down 1-0 late.  Jr C Hunter Gore with 2 out, 2 strike, 2 run oppo double to score 2.  William Monroe impressed.

Loudoun Valley 9, John Champe 0
- LV now 20-2, Conf 28 Champs
- Gore: monster 3R shot B1 (first ever out of LV new park)
- Ager: 1 hit (to first batter of game) allowed over 6IP

Chantilly over Stonewall Jackson 6-1 tonight. Chantilly will host South County on Monday @ 7pm.

3A East Qtr.
Loudoun Valley 2, Culpeper 0
- DeGroat: No no, 16K, 1 BB (from perfect), faced min (pick off in 7th)

Chantilly over Centreville 5-4 tonight. Jared Dicesare with a walk-off grand slam in the 8th and gets the win on the mound. Chantilly advances to the North Regional finals and qualifies for state tournament.

Madison over Battlefield in an instant classic. The Warhawks walked off 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th with a long double by Pete Nielsen. Brian Eckert went 8 innings giving up no earned runs and Jake Agnos went 8 as well with 14 strikeouts. Madison will play Chantilly for the Northern Region Championship on Friday.

4A - btw, why do they have the "A" when there is no "B"; why not just Class 4, 5, etc?! - North Region Semis:

- LV advances to host region final and secures trip to Liberty for state finals
- C Hunter Gore: 3R HR T8 in a 4-4 tie
- Colonial Heights' first loss of season
