He ran Creighton's recruiting and did a nice job, especially in light of of their location (Omaha-BRRR!) and the school's high academic standards. My Son attended their Junior Day, and they had a very extensive mailing program, which I'm sure Rob is continuing at Ohio.
Smith seems to be a no-nonsense, high-discipline type of guy, much like the HC at Creighton.
Ironically, my Son is playing Summer Ball in Athens, OH for the Copperheads, lives on OU campus and he has several teammates who play for OU.
Very nice campus, outstanding field & stadium and good support from the community.
Athens is a lovely town about an hour from Columbus. Great little downtown area with good restaurants, bars,etc.
OU also has one of the best Sports Management programs in the country. Many of them intern for the Summer team.
I would highly recommend the place, but my guess is that these letters could be just a random mass-mailing type of thing?
