FBM....

Just purchased tickets for the Fullerton/Dirtbag series and will be at the March 25th & 26th games. Do you still plan on going to any of these games? Look forward to meeting you.

Also plan on attending the the UCD games against Stanford on May 2nd and CAL on May 24th at Davis. Son's ex-High School teammate plays for Davis and I will be sitting with his Mom. Hope to catch a sighting of some of the HSBBW posters' sons and their parents if they will be in attendance.
DB2B ...

I was just talking with my husband tonight about our plans to go to spring training in Tucson. It looks like we may be going that week and miss the week-end series. It appears that we might have his wife (gee, that looks very strange) drive home with us as she needs to head to her final weeks of student teaching and they are only planning to take one car to Tucson when they go in Feb. I will keep you posted, tho.

By the way, when you go to the UCD games, you might need to whisper some cheers for 123KMOM's son Jeff (with Stanford) and URKillingMeBlue's son Nick (with Cal) while you are cheering aloud for Davis.

By the way ... we know one of the freshman at Davis ... Sean Rooney. His older brother Patrick is at Pepperdine and he is one of AJ's high school and Little League all star teammates who journeyed to Williamsport in '95 with him. Small world, heh?
DB2BMom - As FutureDBackMom surmises, chances are very good that I will be at the UCDavis/Cal Game in May and would enjoy meeting you!

Also, I'm planning to be at the Cal/UC-Irvine game next weekend (for sure on Sunday and hopefully on Saturday, too) -- in whatever form Bullwinkle has manifested himself, I would like to meet him, too -- with or without his sidekick (squirrel)...

JustBB - Congrats on the well deserved pre-season promos! E will be great this year and I can't wait to see him (with one slight caviat). Good luck!
Congrats and best wishes to all the parents with sons starting their seasons at Stanford, Cal, Long Beach, Irvine, Davis...Wow!!! I have been forlornly clicking on my son's college website knowing in the next few days his name will disappear as a graduated senior. What great memories. My forlornness(????????) went away on Monday when a large package arrived for him from the Blue Jays Spring training facility.
Hope each of you can experience every opportunity to watch your sons. IMO, college ball is the best.
Justbb, might consider a stop at the "Old Pro" to calm those nerves. Is there anything better than the anxiety of the parent of a pitcher, and a top pitcher at that?
I have calmed many a nerve in the Old Pro and can fully attest to its effectiveness.
I am hoping the homeplate umpire this weekend is the one who does the moonwalk when calling strikes. We'll be listening for Mom19's critique.
BTW, does anyone beside me see some humor with URKB keeping that logo while posting with the Cal avatar. Which "Blue" is the focus? If I were their pitching coach I might be a little...anxious. Oh yes, I know a place in Berkeley to calm some nerves also. One other item, aren't we scheduled to see some Bullwinkle antleers roaming Evans Diamond soon?

I hadn't thought of UKMB's avatar and webname - thats funny! I doubt she has either.

Most of the HS umpires in the area know my wife well...some by name, most by voice. Some became good friends of the Mrs. Local HS games on TV usually picked up a running chatter all game long..."where'd that miss?" "come on buddy!" "need some help out there?" etc... Kind of fun to listen too.

When he watches the tapes with his kids 20 years from now, our grandchildren will get a kick out of their grandmother. Cool (Oops, hope she doesn't read that!).
“Tell a friend, Bullwinkle’s back..

May I have your attention please?
May I have your attention please?
Will the real Bullwinkle please stand up?
I repeat, will the real Bullwinkle please stand up?

I'm Bullwinkle, yes I'm the real Winkle
All you other Bullwinkle’s are just imitating
So won't the real Bullwinkle please stand up,
please stand up, please stand up?”

Well, I guess that my inner Winkle has return to the surface. The boys of ‘Eater ball want the Bull and not AEDad….Ok find by me.

URKMBlue: As of today, I would say the Bull will be in Berserkly for opening weekend. You can’t miss me, I kinda stand out, but I will be quiet. (Freshman parents are to be seen not heard)

How about an avatar bet? The loser of the series must use the avatar of the winning team until the next weekend? So, if Cal wins the series, I will use the Cal avatar for one week, if UC Irvine, wins you must use a UCI Avatar for one week.

OK, URKMBlue are you up for this?

Sounds like the guantlet has been thrown down and the challenge accepted. The very first HSBBW avatar bet is on. That plus a chance for a "Bullwinkle" sighting could be a reason for a trip to Evans Diamond. Actually, that might not be so rare in downtown Berkeley.

URKMBlue: You are on.......Make sure you are wearing your glasses so as you can see the strike zone!

Tigerpaw Mom: You are on.....Got my tickets and I'm heading for the ATL, then on to Clemson. But I will leave my avatar behind for you to use!

Highlander Mom: Of course you can wear my avatar...but as a special side bet (just for u!) If UCI wins the series... again....I want an UCI avatar and in your signature I want you to post "Savage is my Daddy!"
FBMom: I met KC last night, very nice and loving mom, I can see why the two of you would be friends.

Of course, she does not know who the Bullwinkle is, because she stayed and talked, as compared to most people who Run Away at the sight of the Bullwinkle. Mrs. Bullwinkle wanted to start out on the right foot and be respectable. Imagine a Moose in a pin strip suit, and a red hankie in the left breast pocket, and an adult beverage in the right hand. KC has apparently seen this before, and she never batted an eye. She must have worked with special needs adults in the past.

MACBETH:
Lady, Methinks thou special bet has struck a nerve. (MacBeth, Act 2, Scene 3)
(my apologies to Billy Shakespeare)
Justbball - I was thinking about you when the rain hit today. Darn! Frown Hopefully tomorrow's "partly cloudy" forecast is correct.
