Lynnhaven beats Guilford Patriots 4-1 in Greensboro. Daniel Hudson gets the win and was robbed by the Greensboro Umpires of a NO-HITTER.

Two out, bottom of the seventh, Jason Taylor playing left field makes a diving catch in deep Left Center and collides with David Lottman the Centerfield......both players were hurt and on the ground and umpires never make a call until the Greensboro Runner scores on a inside the park homerun.

David Lottman okay, JT getting x-rays for possible broken risk.

Zack Woods hit a 3 run bomb in the 4th inning.

The ball was clearly a catch, and Jason held up his glove so the umps could see it. While the rest of the players were on the field waiting for the injured players to be helped off, the home plate umpire, who did not make any call, said he "heard it bounce", but he did not see it bounce. He must have superman hearing to "hear" it from homeplate. The field umpire said he would have called it a catch, the game would have been over; but it wasn't his call and there was no conference between them to discuss it.

It was a great game to watch. Hudson didn't have his best stuff but the fielding was A+++ behind him- no errors and spectacular plays by Zach Woods in right field (diving catch) and Jake McAloose (stopped a liner down 3rd base line), and Jason Taylor in center. The last out was made at the plate after Dory Fields threw to relay man Alex Owen, who threw to a waiting Justin Neumann for the out at the plate.

Lynnhaven plays Pittsburg tomorrow, 8/1, at 1:00pm (time change due to a lot of rain over the weekend and more forecast for tomorrow). Sean Ray will be the starter.

LYNNHAVEN IS WORLD SERIES BOUND! party

Zach Woods pitched a great game, gave up 1 run; the relievers were brought in in the 6th inning with the score 7-1 to get some work, and it almost backfired. Many walks and hits later; Daniel Hudson was brought in to close the game.

The team boards the plane at 6:00am tomorrow morning for Puerto Rico.

BRING IT HOME, BOYS!! applaude
Congratulations to all the players representing Virginia in Puerto Rico----what an honor! Is there anyone on the web that will be able to give us an update? Also---the paper should do an article on these boys----are they getting any press besides the line score in the sports page?

Can we get some more information on who is on this team---get bits of information but would like to know who what kids from what beach teams are playing? Know most of the pitchers---who else is playing in the field?
Hope this names them all - sincerest apologies if I leave someone out or misstate!!
