I dunno. I know some kids really highly ranked by PG (Top 50) who have never played in a PG tournament nor done a PG showcase. I think the PG rankings are good in that way -- you don't have to play in their events to be ranked.

My son has never done a PG showcase and has only played one PG tournament -- not a big one -- right after freshman year and this past winter he got some (mild) PG recognition, without it having anything to do with playing in PG events. I give them credit for their "neutrality"

Here's a question- why does it take PG so long after a showcase to post the grade? Their site says at least 4 weeks. I'm at day 38 and counting...

@Francis7 your son's grades may have gotten caught up in the PGAA and the update to all of the rankings which all happened in the past month and probably delayed the change in or distribution of grades.

PG grades matter to my teenage kid, his baseball friends and team mates. I asked him to poll his coaches and their colleagues if it matters, so far it is an unanimous no with some colorful emphatic adjectives  thrown in.
