Doing 1st PG showcase this weekend. A few questions for those in the know.

1. He listed SS/3B/P as his positions in that order. Is it likely he will be asked to pitch in a game or Bullpen or neither? How many games will he play and how many players per team?

2. Will College coaches typically be wearing their school shirts etc and be easily identifiable? How many coaches would you expect to attend the Northeast showcase? Will coaches speak to players at the event if they like what they see or is that not permissible for a 2013 player?

3. In the Saturday evaluation how many balls will he field at SS and how many swings at the plate will he take?

Any other tips? Thanks

If a 2012 player is targeting mostly D3s (with some D1/D2) in the New England area, and has already emailed a few dozen coaches, but does not have eye-popping size or stats, is there any benefit to a PG showcase? I mean, if his PLAY on the field during games might warrant more attention than a showcase environment w/ guns and watches???

Thanks.

Sandman, we are in the same boat with my 2012. He is targeting several D2/D3 programs in New England. Very specific academic programs and social atmosphere(dry campus). We are holding off on PG and pumping the money into the school clinic/showcases. I'm not sure if we are doing the right thing...but...

Call TRHit at the number above.
The Team One events are moderately recruited. Their South East Tourney is fairly well attended by Scouts. The Team One events are poorly attended. Mostly D3, Juco, and D2 scouts with a smattering of D1.

Perfect Game showcases are much, much better. TPX showcases are also pretty good. Baseball Factory events are overpriced and under scouted.

If you need help with recruiting, go to Student Athlete Showcase. We had outstanding results with them.
2013 Lefty

My boy reached out prior to the event to geographic schools of interest which worked well. He had a good showing. Emailing prior with information on his game cant hurt.

I was very surprised to see at the hitting session the number of kids not running(just jogged) out the last ball. I saw this happen several times while the evaluators stressed "run this one out".

Spoke with a PG staff person and talked a bit about the creation of the organization. Most interesting that Stats(HS) really do not mean a thing. Now if he fills the stats at a PG event that means alot.

The PG Showcase was well organized and he enjoyed the structure of the two days. Good Luck
