Coaches that won't make a play or pitch call, but then complain/yell at the kid that made the decision in his absence.
Easy.
Know-it-all parents who won't shut up, complaining loudly about coaches and players the entire game. Please sit in the outfield and leave the rest of us alone.
Any player who doesn't run hard through first base.

* Lack of Hustle (Offensively & Defensively)
* Sloppiness (uniform, jewelry, crooked hat, etc...)
* Poor Attitudes (Players/Parents/Coaches)
* Sitting next to obnoxious fans that Don't have a clue, and it doesn't matter what sport it is!
* Listening to my friends brag about the GIANTS knowing that I'm suffering as a DODGERS fan!

TRhit - I guess I am one of those because I tend to use "it is my understanding" and "I think" because I am not in a baseball program (I am a parent) and all my knowledge is second hand. I also use those terms so that forum vultures don't attack if my information is possibly incomplete. And...I don't apologize for using them, I will probably continue to do so.
P.S. Go Rangers!
Alcoholic bullies who never have anything nice to say. Their only joy in life seems to be trying to tear other people down so they can get a reaction for their own perverse enjoyment. The only people they ever seem to have any empathy or sympathy for is themselves. Pathetic.
I think and it is also my understanding from things I have heard from others, that the Rangers are going to finish off the Yankees this weekend and play in the World Series.
What do you think, cheapseats? Have you heard that too?

Wow CD...that one sure came out of the blue!
And judging by it's quick disappearance it just kept on going...right off the message board. Kinda' like a loosened cork...
I guess this is what happens when a person gets egged on to respond!
I really liked your pet peeve. Very appropriate. Very timely. Very true!
NOTE: I must be hitting the vanilla extract too hard CD. I'll remain civil. I promise. Your post was not deleted as my genuinely bean addled mind had thought. I stand, barely upright, by my statement...your's is a well earned pet peeve.

TX-Husker - I have heard that!
I KNOW the Rangers are gonna win tonight! Well, I think so anyway,
Go Rangers!
Oh my goodness cheapseats, and TX, me too, I just used "it is my understanding" in another topic.
My bad, I think.

Secondly it is my understanding that coaches can talk to the player after the the event is done---there is a gray area here too--is it over for the player when his team is eliminated or when the entire event is completed
Fun with the search engine.
This must be one of those gray(sp?) areas...

It's my understanding that both grey and gray are correct spellings of the word.
I think you may be correct.

Back to pet peeves...
1) People who are still captivated by the idea that they can get a front-row seat at a televised game, and then call their buddy on a cell phone and wave the same time.
2) Scrolling billboards behind the plate. (and logo wall-paper that look like pajammies in the back of the dugout)
3) Umpires who like to put their hand on the catcher's back when they get down in the slot. I have no idea whether feeling that for 27 outs is really annoying or not, but once I notice it, it drives me insane.
4) The fact that we can't stop playing "God Bless America" in the 7th inning for fear that our patriotism will somehow waver. I used to love that song. Don't we already have a National Anthem?
5) Those dudes who don't get how fleeting true coolness is. They'll be the ones still running around doing "claws and antlers" in 2011.
6) The fact that you have to hire security guards to protect the ball girls who sit up the foul line. They never seem to move right when a fair-ball screamer hooks toward them.
7) People who can't get their heads wrapped around the concept that a great play can still be made on the spectator's side of "the plane of the wall."
8) The fact that a towel-full-of-shaving-cream-in-the-face has become an acceptable substitute for a pie-in-the-face. Proper pranksters should be expected to keep pies on-hand.
9) Umpires that dust the plate off with their shoe.

I think I've heard, at least it is my understanding that Lincecum allowed 27 of 30 runners to steal on him. Hmm...it is my understanding that they can't take the Cy Young away from him for that. I think I've heard that is the case.
Who is it on this board who is such a strong advocate of freely voicing opinions? I think I've heard, and it is my understanding that people say "I think" when they're putting forth an opinion.
JMO.

When the TV camera shows a fan who appears to be praying or has their hands covering their face during a tense portion of the game.
Biggerpapi - I offer my apologize on behalf of all the Rangers fans ...... but once the bullpen is in prayer is all we have to hang our hopes on.
Ha! So far so good tonight.
Got a kick out of the couple hugging as if they were watching the Exorcist!
Early in the broadcast (right before Hamilton's HR) they showed 2 friends of mine (cute blonde's) waiving towels ..... much better representation of Rangers fans than the praying fans and the older cuddle couple.
How about last year when they'd plant the stars of the latest lame FOX TV show in the front row..wasting seats for real fans.
.
I know, I know papi. Especially when they come to the ballpark already decked out for at least nine innings of imagined tenseness...

Biggerpappi - they did that again tonight - did you catch the Fox star from "Raising Hope" singing God Bless America? Apparently there must not have been any vocalist available tonight....

TX does appear to have much more attractive fans than SF. Wasn't there a country song about how "God Blessed Texas"

Fortunately, I missed that!

The Camera men did seem to focus alot on the Texas Women or maybe it is just where we focused.....

Wonder who Fox was expecting to be there....
