"I wish you the best in your baseball "career". I hope at some point you got your degree, or will. That's what is really important."

Do you really wish me the best?

And no, degrees aren't important to everyone. I do plan on attaining my degree, but education, I argue, is of essence. Degrees, not necessarily. Two different things. One can't be taken from you.

"Everyone gave you great advice. You just didn't like it."

No some gave good advice. Those are the ones I listened to. They know who they are. Perhaps you're mad because you gave poor advice and I refuse to take your substance lacking ridicule.

"Go back and reread the entire topic, you mislead everyone.  You don't come here and insult a man who has helped so many with great advice."

Perhaps he has but the advice here was poor. You act like the man is a god who makes no mistakes.  He clearly dissed me and I threw it right back.

Everyone here is a student of the game. Anyone and everyone shouldn't take bs from anyone no matter who they are. Drop the ego.

"A sixth year man should dominate, especially at an NAIA.  It's like a 25-26 year old dominating A ball. Season hasn't started and you haven't made the team yet."

You're right but there's more to it than just simply dominating. There's also the journey of coming back from the injury, making an impact on the program, and moving on.

You're trying to rain on my parade and I'm simply pulling out the umbrella.

"Do a search on what the doctor said to you. Scar tissue doesn't cause pain. You said you had pain when you threw. It's not going to go away. Do your homework."

My surgeon was the one who inferred about the scar tissue so I'll make sure to pass the message about doing his homework to him.

They removed my bicep tendon to prevent it from pulling on the labrum and to alleviate the pain. I won't mind a little pain if I know everything is okay. I'm gonna be balling again having fun. Sorry.

Check yourself

That is all TPM

You came here all panicky you were in pain. Now it's just a little pain?

Which is it? Once again do your homework. After a successful surgery there should be no pain if you had the right guy do it and followed your rehab correctly. You even said you hurt it in rehab.

Now you are the tough guy.

You don't know what it's like to be a true player. You lack humility.

You haven't even made the team yet.

Go check yourself.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone reading this thread...IMO there was plenty of blame to go around the kid being immature to some other posters thinking they are able to give accurate input on topic they know very little about...especially if the info provided to them is incorrect... let this whole silly argument go!!

I am officially checking myself at this time, as a matter of fact I am checked out!!

Merry Christmas!

This whole saga reminds of :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Boy_Who_Cried_Wolf

I do believe at one time responders were genuinely concerned with an individual who wasn't quite sure how to interpret or handle a situation. It's quite common place in this board. Advice sought, advice given. It's a community of individuals that genuinely care about others even though you may not personally know them. Over a short time people figured out what the real deal seems to have been and now there's a different thought process and another saying that comes to mind :

'Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me'

Good luck with your season and impending career - if it doesn't turn out well, I doubt you can or should come back here looking for advice...

I feel like I let infielddad down.  I sent him a personal e-mail asking him to respond to this thread and he gave a generous, detailed response.  Now we have a young individual showing an utter lack of respect and appreciation for the advice that was given when apologies are clearly due.  I'd let it go at this point kt333 and quit digging the hole deeper than you already have.

This whole post has turned quite sad. Too bad it got so personal.

Hopefully he will move on and concentrate on getting his degree as his chances of ever playing past NAIA is very slim. The only way a degree is unimportant is if dad ownes a business he can work for that does not require a degree.

Maybe we'll  see more posts in Spring, or hopefully he'll just PM those who gave him replies he liked.

It's not a question of telling or not telling, playing or not playing.

You can no more throw a baseball with a seriously torn labrum than you can steal bases after having a leg amputated.

Minor tears can often be overcome with heavy PT and exercise.  Todd Stottlemeyer even pitched several years in the majors that way.  But no one can play high level baseball with a serious tear.

I regret that, at age 23-24, you probably find yourself where most 23-24 year olds find themselves:  retired from active playing.
