Thank you all who have posted about son's first start, much appreciated.

I do apologize, but I am not familiar with all of your sons and where they play. I try as hard as I can to follow the weekend college games and the players that I know, but it would be great to hear about everyone.

I was thinking that we could pin this thread to the top for the season (or in after HS)and we could post about our son's games and others that we know, kind of make it a group thing. Smile

What fun to read about all of these boys!

Chris Vasami, 10 RBI's in 2 games!! WOW!

pfbear, it sounds like your son had a great game, and I love your description of the E: "I think he thought the 1B had moved up 10 rows into the stands!!" I can definitely picture the throw! Big Grin

grateful, what an amazing comeback outing for Eric, seven scoreless innings! Congrats to him! This is not too shabby either: "Dating back to May 16, 2004, Theisen has now won nine-straight decisions."

Wow, this has been a very fine week for some HSBBW players. Congrats to David for a terrific first outing.
pf, that 1B was way out of position. Throw seemed perfect to me. Wink
grateful, that website story, combined with yours in another thread is just wonderful. I have a sense of what you have seen and what determination and perseverance occurred with your son over those past 14 months. My hat is off to him..and to you. When you read about the impact of labrum tears and surgery on pitchers, this story is even more compelling.
Playing the game well is a big challenge for most. Coming back from a major injury like a shoulder or elbow and playing well is quite a significant accomplishment.

Well done to all and a special well done to grateful jr., rz2, infieldkid, and other comeback kids. We are watching and cheering.

My son's season hasn't started yet, so I will brag on another webster's son, who I am sure will be too modest to post about him:

LHPitcher's son, Blake Keitzman, is a freshman LHP at Oregon State. Late last summer he blew out his ACL.

He had surgery, went through all the rehab, and was ready to pitch for the start of this season.

He's had three outings so far this season. In the most recent against Missouri last Sunday he pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up one hit, to get his first save.

And he was nominated for PAC-10 pitcher of the week!

How's that for a start to a college pitching career!
OK...
...well...if you insist.

JT, Jr is off to a start we never imagined 6 months ago. Batting leadoff for Lynchburg College and playing LF as a freshman. He's batting .400 (.519 OBP) thru 6 games with 2 doubles and a triple, with 10 runs scored. Add in two OF assists at home...
...and we're pretty excited right now.

He is of course the son of Dad04. Buddy is now 2-0 on the mound after a nice 6 inning performance last night...Congratulations.

What??? Dad04, we have to hear this through a reliable source, not straight from the source??? Geez, for us left coasters, we really need to have you focus on the title of this thread and let us know about "your" player...Please???
Congrats to Buddy. Great start to the year. Here is hoping there are many more...that get reported on this site. Wink

I can see Coach Merc and Dad04 posting a request for bail from a Cajun lock-up.

John, you be nice with Coach Merc

Coach Merc.....Dad04..........New HSBBW members

It puts a whole new meaning to "over the fence" and "going yard". Volunteers will be lining up to chase foul balls, and asking to go out to the parking lot to turn off their cars headlightsBig Grin.

Due to weather I guess it will be a couple days of "trackin" HSBBW teams/players for me. TPM came up with an idea and this may be a good weekly thread to let everyone know who's playing where, and when, then follow up next week with results.

Give a reply to where, and when so we can track and check up on the HSBBW teams.

He has a fantastic trainer who had him pitching pen by thursday.

I love hearing about about all of the websters son's and watching their progress, so don't stop and don't be modest!

It warms my heart to see the Certified Athletic Trainers getting love from the parents. They put in longer hours than either the coaches or players...
...so, if you have a chance, thank them for being there for your sons.

As a parent, I think the baseball trainer is awesome and so does the team and coaches, that is what counts most. Smile He is an integral part of the team and their success and available 24/7.
He got DK into xray asap and after diagnosis, started pt by monday early afternoon. By thrusday he was good to go.

BoomerIL,
First year I was not too impressed with the trainer, nice guy, but coach made a change and it has been a very good one. I guess maybe they are not all created equal?
