That's a solid of a prediction right up there with the wind blowing out to left at North.

Naw, Nico don't pitch, but he can hit the *** a long, long way.

On a clear night there are two in orbit he hit than can be seen with the naked eye.

One was at the Boyd launching pad and the other at the no longer Little Elm site.

You can ask OP about the one I mentioned. Scoreless game in extra innings, son comes in relief and retires the side in order in eighth. Ninth, Nico watches a breaking ball for a called strike. Another back door curve and Nico launches it, ball game. I remember as though it was yesterday as my son was very disappointed as it was senior night.
If I may, later that Summer, he faced Nico in the Connie Mack South Plains Regional Championship game when it was DBAT vs Mustangs. Not sure but my son said he thought Nico was smiling when he came up to bat. Struck him out on the same pitch he launched (true story). He felt a little vindication. Smile

What umpire:

Threw a wild pitch,
Had a passed ball,
Let a ground ball go through his legs,
Threw a ball over the first baseman's head and into the dugout,
Dropped a fly ball,
Missed a hit and run signal,
Grounded into a double play with the bases loaded,
Failed to execute a suicide squeeze or
Swung through fastball third strike down the pipe?

Please elaborate

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers FO, but....how many high school teams play 24 games. Not to question your math, but I believe North played 32 games last year. That is one in six games. Or, 27 if you impute that into the major leagues. Wink

Nico played in exactly 23 games last year. He's a basketball player and North went 2 deep in the playoffs and he missed the first 9 games of the season. The first game he played was against Haltom in the Newman Smith tournament.....he hit 3 doubles in that game by the way!!

He had 66 AB's on the season. 1 HR every 11 AB's. Not too shabby for a high schooler who doesn't see alot of good pitches. He actually didn't hit his first HR until the 3rd game of district and his last one was the last district game. So really he hit 6 homeruns in 11 games.

My best guess would be........Mickey Mantle World Series....he had an illustrious career growing up in McKinney and on into college!!
Outsider and Ennis Lyons,

It was a joke. Everyone blames the umpires. While one call will not win or lose a game, one call can have a significant impact on the game.

I still feel bad about a 3rd strike call in the last inning of the 3rd game in the 3rd round of the playoffs last year. That pitch was about 3-4 inches low. Saw the kid later in the summer and apologized for it, but still feel bad about it. Knew it as soon as I called it.

other that Murray from Lake Dallas do you know of anyone coming back

The Falcons will have junior Michael Murray back OF/LHP who is an outstanding ballplayer (firts team all-district). They also return second team all-district senior Kale Malcom who is a slick fielding shortstop. If his bat produces a little more he could be tough. They also return their first baseman senior "Boo" Rodriguez and senior third baseman Breece Sturdy, both who hit the ball hard.
If they can find a second pitcher to follow Murray and improve on last years hitting, they could make a little noise.

Good luck to all in 9-4A!

thanks for the info

I understand now. Thought you might have been referring to those "gorillas" that hang on the backstop and rag the umpire. IMO, they ruin it for every body. No matter how good your zone was that day, that's the one that will stick with you.

If I held a grudge against every bad call that was made agsinst me, I never would have enjoyed playing the game. I've said very little to them in all my playing days. It doesn't help the situation, and unless the rule is interpretated wrong, the only time I will really converse with them.
So, did Milam finally grow some stones last night?

I understand he benched some malcontents during the game with North.

About time. Boyd does have talent, but this is quite the collection of undisciplined talkers. Beat somebody before you yap so much.

Maybe it wasn't the coaching at North with Milam.....could it have been the "Jimmys and the Joes"?

Give me the "Guy" at MHS.

Ball4MHS,

It is pretty early in the season to be crowning MHS or North and ending Boyd's season. From what I have seen so far, Boyd has more talent than any 9-4A team. Milam will right the ship, and then lookout.

Talent...maybe some of the players can play the sax, or belong to the math club, I'm sure their are 1 or 2 "master debaters" as well.

All joking aside, Boyd's most talented players have the worst character on the team. You can be talented but if you have no heart your going to be at the bottom looking up.

Milam is a well respected coach but setting players down half way through the season to make a point...that point should have been made before scrimmages started.

1. MHS
2. MNHS
3. Cent.
4. Frisco
5. Boyd
6. The Colony
7. Lake Dallas
8. Little Elm
One has to enjoy the McKinney rivalries -- and it's nice to have an expert like dodger, who obviously knows all teams north of LBJ, regardless of there classifications. Wink

dodger....

"your" indicates possession, like "their"

"you're" represents a contraction for "you are", as in "you're going to be at the bottom...."

Big Grin (yes, it was intentional - do you have to ask?)
If true, I hope the young man finds his way...very talented athlete.

Milam, henceforth referred to as the Captain, appears to be righting the ship.

However, it's still unknown whether that ship is the SS Minnow or the USS Enterprise.

Nonetheless, this ship analogy does beg the question....Ginger or Mary Ann?

I will stick with my preseason prediction that Boyd will be in the playoffs.
